No Plans, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
We’re Don and Ashley Buckner, a married couple. We’ve always been avid travelers and enthusiasts. We would always share our travel experiences on social media, and people would always reach out to us for travel tips and advice. First, we came up with the name (No Plans Let’s Travel). We wanted something catchy but also with a meaning behind it. There have been quite a few things we’ve traveled on a whim and just made the best of things once we arrived at our destination. Second, we created our logo, our idea was to have something that stood out but was not overwhelming. Third, we went through all of the legal proceedings to legitimize our business. We just celebrated our first anniversary as a company, which is a huge milestone for us. The past has been very successful for us, we’ve created a following on all social media platforms and a successful online store. In our opinion, the hardest thing to figure out was getting started. We believe once you get started and stay on a consistent path to reach goals, everything is going to fall into place. Moving forward we’re continuing to film episodes as we travel around the world and we’re on our third season!
No Plans, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We are a travel company and travel content creators. We help travelers plan their next vacation from flights, hotels, car services, itineraries, and excursions. Our goal is the get the best travel perks for the best price for our clients. Traveling can be stressful if not correctly planned, we take the hassle of planning your travel for you while you focus on enjoying your vacation. Also as travel content creators, we film episodes as we travel around the world, sharing our experiences with our audience. For our clients, we have solved everything from booking last-minute flights to helping clients get refunds when plans change. We’re most proud of taking an idea and growing it into a legitimate company. It’s still amazing to see how far we’ve come since getting started. We want clients and fans to know that we strive to deliver the greatest product and we’re here for all of their travel needs.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The biggest lesson we’ve learned when creating travel content was to stop trying to be perfect lol. You have to tell yourself that it’s okay to make mistakes because those are where the most lessons are learned. Also realizing that your audience wants to get to know and see the authentic you. With any business people have to trust and buy into you first before buying into your brand. Those are some of the most important lessons we’ve learned on our journey.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
We believe being consistent has helped build our reputation as a company. We’re constantly working, whether it’s putting out new travel content, tips, advice, etc. We’re adding new products to our online store consistently. Communication is key! From email, social media inboxes, a contact number that connects you to us, and not an automated machine lol. Doing these things has built an excellent rapport with our clientele, and they’ve grown to trust that we are a company that’s here to stay.
