Hi Nneoma, thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
I selected Unaltered Skincare as the name of my brand because I wanted people to feel comfortable in their own skin. I did not want them to have to alter their skin just to feel beautiful. By maintaining a good and consistent game-changing skincare regimen, anyone can have beautiful skin.
Nneoma, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Nneoma Uzoezie founded Unaltered Skincare in Dallas, Texas back in 2020. As a skincare and beauty advocate, Uzoezie has always taken care of her skin, which meant skincare products were always nearby in her home. She decided to create her skincare line after watching her young toddler grow and try to put anything she could reach into her mouth. She tried to find safe skincare products in the store but never found any. So, she began creating products in her kitchen. Today, you can purchase her products online at unalteredskincare.com. Her products are perfect for women in their mid-20s to 65 who care about what they put on their skin. It is co-owned and formulated by a natural chemist.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I am currently in the process of pivoting my business. I am working with a coach to help me really hone in on what my customers want from me and my brand. I consider myself an expert in skincare and I want to help educate my community to better understand how to my products, as well as others. I am currently testing different things out and determining what is working well and what is not. I expect this phase to take me 3 to 4 months.

I sell on my Shopify website, which allows my customers to easily buy my products and sign up for monthly subscriptions.
