We recently connected with Nkweto Mweemba and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nkweto, thanks for joining us today. Early in your career, how did you think through the decision of whether to start your own firm or join an established firm?
hey Growing up, I always had an interest in fashion and sports. Never would i have imagined i would find a love in the financial market. After high school, I went to college for a degree in marketing. I’m one of those people that never had a dream job, because i never dreamed of labor. My dream is to live an abundent lifestyle without worrying about finances. So i decided to study business admin, but didn’t feel like it was the right fit for me. When the pandemic hit and the world shut down, I found myself with a lot of free time on my hands. I started browsing through social media and came across a girl I went to high school with who was posting about her success in Forex trading.
Intrigued by the potential for financial success, I reached out to her and she convinced me to sign up for a Forex trading program. I was so eager to start making money that I didn’t think too much about the environment I was getting myself into. I quickly made money because i became obssesed with the edycation, but i realized that the company culture was toxic and wasn’t helping me grow as a trader. The constant pressure to grow my community for more sales and the lack of support from my peers made me take a step back from the company.
However, I didn’t let that discourage me. I saw it as a learning opportunity and to really see how good of a trader i can be. I started trading on my own, using the knowledge and skills I had acquired over the years. I put all my energy and focus into refining my strategies and perfecting my skills. I was determined to succeed, and my hard work paid off as I started seeing consistent profits. But I also realized that there were many other women who were struggling in the same environment that I had left behind. I saw an opportunity to make a difference in their lives & wanted to share my knowledge and help women reach their full potential in the world of trading.
So, I took the leap and started my own business, offering trading education and mentorship to other women. I wanted to create a supportive community where women could learn, grow, and achieve financial success in the modern world of trading. I was passionate about helping other women find the same success that I had found and was dedicated to providing them with the resources and guidance they needed to succeed.
Looking back, I know that leaving my old company was the best decision I ever made. It allowed me to follow my passion, create a successful business, and make a difference in the lives of others. I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way and am excited for what the future holds.
During my first year as a full-time trader and business owner, I had to learn how to balance my trading system but also how to create a profitable business also.In a male-dominated industry. It was not an easy journey, but I am proud of what I have accomplished. As a black female business owner, I faced many challenges and obstacles, but I refused to let them stop me from pursuing my dreams.
I have seen tremendous growth and success with my members from all over the world. I have helped countless women achieve financial independence (or even create a new stream of income) and have been proud to see their progress and success. My business has become a thriving community where women can learn, grow, and support each other in the world of trading.
I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way and am committed to continuing to provide quality education and mentorship to women in the industry. I am excited to see where the next year will take me and my business, and I am confident that I will continue to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Nkweto, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Nicki Mweemba, I am a 24-year-old small business owner and entrepreneur. My passion for helping women succeed and build their wealth is what led me to start my business. I believe that every woman has the potential to be financially independent and successful, but they just need the right tools and guidance to get there. That’s why I created Digital Bo$$, to provide women with the resources and support they need to take control of their financial futures.
One of the things that set Digital Bo$$ apart is our focus on digital money-making methods. Many women are intimidated by traditional forms of investing, such as the stock market, but digital methods offer a more accessible and low-risk way to start building wealth. My team and I have a deep understanding of the foreign exchange market and we are committed to teaching our clients how to trade successfully and maximize their profits. Not only that but we help aspiring business owners create, market, and brand their businesses. We have weekly entrepreneurship sessions that teach members marketing tips and tricks to start scaling their businesses.
We understand that women lead busy lives, so we wanted to make it as convenient as possible for them to access all of our services. From training sessions to live trading sessions, our membership package has everything a woman needs to start making money digitally.
I am extremely proud of my business and the impact it has had on women’s lives. I believe that with hard work, determination, and the right guidance, anyone can achieve their financial dreams.
How did you build your audience on social media?
As a highly active social media user, I used to spend hours aimlessly scrolling through various platforms. However, when I discovered the potential of earning money through these platforms, my perspective changed. I was eager to turn my passion into a profitable venture.
Initially, I used my personal social media page to promote my business, but soon I realized that people are not just interested in my products or services, they also want to see the person behind the brand. Thus, in 2022, I made the decision to separate my personal and business pages. This was a crucial step in building my social media presence.
Having separate pages for my personal and professional life allowed me to connect with my audience in a more meaningful way. I could share my experiences, thoughts, and personality on my personal page while showcasing my products and services on my business page. The two pages complement each other and help me connect with my audience on a personal level.
Managing two pages does require more effort, as I have to create content for both pages. However, the rewards have been well worth it. I have gained a larger and more engaged following, which has translated into increased brand visibility and profits.
In conclusion, building a social media presence requires a strategic approach and a willingness to put in the time and effort required. For me, separating my personal and business pages was a turning point, allowing me to connect with my audience in a more authentic and meaningful way. I am now reaping the benefits of my hard work and dedication to building a strong social media presence.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
In today’s fast-paced society, it is all too easy to fall into the trap of thinking that more is better. This was certainly the case for me when I was working for a company that placed a high emphasis on sales and generating revenue. I was caught up in this mentality, believing that the more sales I made, the better I was doing. However, I soon came to realize that this approach was misguided and had to unlearn this lesson.
I eventually decided to strike out on my own and start my own business. I took a different approach, placing a strong emphasis on education and helping people achieve their goals. Instead of simply trying to generate more sales, I focused on ensuring that my clients received the information and support they needed to reach their full potential. I realized that by taking this approach, I was actually doing much more good for my clients and helping them achieve the success they deserved.
