Alright, Niyati thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
It was always in my mind to pursue art but to make it a profession I was waiting for an opportunity. So I picked up one by participating in an art competition which added fuel to the fire for my future steps. I embarked on a new path and engaged myself in gaining more knowledge and learning new styles with hands on different materials which eventually helped me know my process as an artist. It boosted my confidence to its zenith as an artist. This was my stepping stone in my journey as an artist.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
The failures I faced were more an encouragement and turned for me onto positive notes. It has always been a tough journey pursuing a career as an artist. The level of difficulty was extreme as I had lack of mentorship and no road map for the future. I need to act and research and dive deep down in this subject to excel. I read lots and lots of blogs, many books and other material wherever I could find and get more and more information. I watched many videos and opted for some courses, In a nutshell, I was on a journey to find me a road which can lead me to some sort of knowledge and take me forward.
As a painter I was realistic. Initially my art and painting was very tight and from a source. Slowly and gradually with lots of practice I started to loosen up on my hand as an artist. As we speak, I paint freely and intuitively. I started painting abstract art and abstract figurative, using oils, acrylics and experimenting with new techniques, different styles and materials. Being an explorer, I also worked with abstract atmospheric landscapes. Further, I discovered a road which I had never chosen in the past. While making abstract paintings I figured out that my process subconsciously incorporated all of my yesteryears knowhow. Evolution of self, expressed the core in my art process.
I can proudly say that I have learned and practiced a lot and have never stopped no matter what. I persevered and continued with confidence in my art. At the back of my mind I always knew it ought to be a long journey, Walking on this path assuredly needed a goal oriented mindset and utmost confidence and patience. This mindset helped me overcome the hurdles in my way. I am truly proud of all the hard work I put in to reach here and would always want to learn and explore more which can take my art to another level.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I was a person with a solitary personality. Art has played a vital role in crafting my life. Creativity for me is a broader term. Learning from each art work I created and incorporating the new knowledge to my future art works, became the principle for me as an artist. Acquiring new knowledge available, with the time and need, I had a transformation for good. Expression for me was through my art work. As a writer would play with his words, so do I with my brush and paint.
In the process of being an artist, I became more sociable and vocal. This optimist change has helped me to look for new perspectives of life and art.
This transformation form a solitary personality to being a sociable one is the most rewarding thing that art has blessed me with. My creative side is dedicated to all those people from who I learned by observing, exploring and sharing knowledge.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Profession as an artist is always looked upon as a hobby persuader. Careers which yield job and instant money are more acceptable by communities at large. Creativity in the field of art and painting has been overshadowed by other professions. I recall the time how documents and movies and medias from yesteryears portray artists as an underclass. We as a society must take the responsibility to change this perception for today and forever. Every corner of the world talks about creativity and to be candid this word has its roots with the artists. Even as a child, the creative elements are judged in the initial learning days by the art it exhibits. At large, the society has neglected the artist fraternity for the credits they should have received.
In my opinion, Instilling more artistic approaches to a growing kid, introducing art work at all the levels of schooling and further can give desired respect and appreciation to the art field. Creative minds are the need of today’s world than ever before. This stepping stone will lead to the best future creative people and thus, thrive creative ecosystem.
