Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Niya Rose. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Niya thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
Some people think Modeling is getting in front of a camera and taking a picture, however its much more to it ! It took me about a year or two to fully get comfortable as a model and I had to learn by researching other models, studying poses & practicing my walk on a daily. It took me a while to realize the dedication and practice it took to learn my angles, one thing I wish I learned sooner. I thought it was all fun and games but its hard work and practice especially if you want to be a runway model. You have to practice your walk on a daily and in different types of heels at that because you never know what you will be required to walk in. My procrastination definitely stood in the way of me learning more sooner.

Niya, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Teniya “Niya Rose” Rouse. I am a native of Brooklyn, New York & have been making waves in the Atlanta modeling and filming scene since 2017. The first film I started in was “Shared Feelings”; a short film produced by C.M.G. & W.O.N. Film Production. I secured the leading role as Chynelle. This was my first speaking role & also my first lead role. Recently I landed a Role of “Kat” in an upcoming series call Swipers being produced by C&C film movie studio. I started in Swipers as an extra in one episode & landed myself a recurring role as a prison inmate. Swipers is set to be released on Tubi streaming network in the near future. The last and most recent project I’ve worked on was “Typed” produced by Muva Media Group. I secured a Lead role as “Nia” a successful woman in business. I am currently working on a web series called “Modeling Roses” which follows a day in the life of me and my two daughters as we continue to grow our modeling and acting career together. One of the things im most proud of is having my daughters follow my footsteps, showing them that they can do & be anything they want to and having them believe in they selves! I have also modeled for several renowned Atlanta photographers, brands, and clothing companies & started in various shows as an extras.
Whether you are a photographer, clothing company, or film producer, My energetic personality and professional poise will help bring your project to life!
How did you build your audience on social media?
I have built my social media presence by keeping my social media clean and professional which is the same advice I would give to anyone just starting out. Companies or brands look at your websites and social media first to be sure that you have what they want as far as representing their company or brand.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
A story that illustrates my resilience would having my kids. Being a model I thought my career would be over due to a hectic mom life and body changes, however I pushed through and made it work. Having to bring my kids to shoots only inspired them that they want to model too which in return inspired me to keep going!
