Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nina Wittmer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nina , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
For the past few years, I have been working on small businesses social media accounts just for fun. I received my Bachelors degree in Communications from the University at Buffalo back in 2020. I knew that I wanted to work in the social media/digital marketing field but did not know where to start. I moved out to Arizona with my now husband in May 0f 2021 and got a job working as a Social Media Specialist at a local marketing firm. I knew, I eventually wanted to be on my own and have clients that I can work closely with. I started posting for small businesses social media accounts in 2022 using the skills that I have learned from my Social Media Specialist role. It was just a hobby for me and something that I loved to do since I already had a full-time job. At the beginning of this year, I was asked my multiple small businesses if I could assist/run their social media platforms. It was my husband’s idea to actually create a business and start my own LLC. The whole process was rather quick, I started my research in January of this year which included, the cost of starting a business, any rules and regulations that the state of Arizona has relating to opening up a business/LLC, creating a name and trademarking it, and looking to see what my competition would be like. After numerous days of researching, I applied for my LLC, and that is when Creative Minds Arizona, LLC was established. My businesses was created this past February and has been going strong for almost 3 months. I know that my business is still “new” but I am very excited to see where my business goes and how it flourishes. Currently, I have 7+ clients in Arizona and New York. I really have to thank my husband for putting the thought of starting a business in my head. I am also in the the process of getting my Master’s degree in Digital Audience Strategy from Arizona State University. I am excited to continue learning further as a business owner but also learning more within the field of digital marketing!
Nina , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is the use of boosted posts on my business Instagram page as well as email marketing. The post I boosted on Instagram reached 4,891 accounts with 290 profile visits. I had multiple small business reach out from that post asking about my services and price packages. I also used email to reach out to small business in the Arizona and New York area to see if they were in need of social media management services and if so, I provided them with my background, resume, and a blurb about my business.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
In my social media packages, it includes either monthly or bi-monthly social media strategic phone calls to discuss what is going well and what we can improve on throughout the social media platforms. I also let them know that I am always available on email and my personal cell phone number. I want them to know that I am always there for them and that I am more than just their Social Media Manager, I am their friend. I make sure that they hear from me once or twice a week via email or text to keep them up to date on their social media accounts as well as wanting to hear how their week is.
