We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nina Averbeck a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Nina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
One of my favorite meaningful projects has been something called “Dancing for Good”. This is a blend of my MYSFIT dance fitness classes + donating to local charities. Each time we do a “dancing for good” month, we choose a new charity and then host multiple classes where those who attend can choose to participate and get entered into a drawing to receive free MYSFIT classes/swag in return. It’s been a wonderful way to drum up excitement for my workout class as well as helping others in the process. Win, win!

Nina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a creative through and through and have been for as long as I can remember. Currently I work as an artist/designer by day, and by night I’m a dance fitness instructor/choreographer.
The thing that sets me apart from others is that I love utilizing creativity to bring light and joy into the world.
My favorite way to tap into my creative side is to create fun dance fitness routines for my workout class that I have been teaching every Monday night since October of 2018.
I’ve met so many wonderful souls that have told me how much my MysFit Mondays mean to them. It always warms my heart and motivates me to keep creating fun, fresh dance workouts.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist/creative has always been seeing my my initial visions come to life – whether it’s through a computer, a billboard, painted canvas, or through dance. I enjoy seeing what I create become bigger than me. I love seeing how things evolve through the creative process.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I would say my main mission is always to try to give back to my community and bring joy to others. My MYSFIT class is a prime example! I harness my creativity and use it to create fun routines and a positive environment that people can come to for one hour on Monday nights where they can forget their problems, get an endorphin boost and start the week off on a high note!
