Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Niko Johnson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Niko, thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Higher Being was created to motivate and inspire everyone to become the best version of themselves by chasing their dreams, and taking control of their health. People tend to develop bad habits, without ever finding their purpose. The Higher Being brand encourages everyone to take control of their health and pursue their purpose . Once you begin your journey of chasing your dreams, and taking those risk you slowly begin to transition from a human being to a Higher Being.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
Prior to higher Being Fitness , I was a collegiate athlete. After slowly losing my passion for football, I started to discover a new passion for fitness. Soon after I received my NASM certification to become a full time personal trainer . I help my clients achieve their goals through 1 on 1 training whether it’s for fat loss or muscle gain. My fitness journey has helped me make a positive impact on my clients lives by helping them accomplish their goals. Throughout the process of training clients I thought it would be a good idea to design apparel for them to workout in called “Higher Being”. Higher Being Apparel has developed into a top notch brand , from material to fashion. There are plenty of items to choose from, such as leggings , crop tops, sleeveless hoodies and more. Even though the journey has just begun I am proud of the milestones I’ve accomplished thus far.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A few lessons I had to unlearn was improper technique & daily eating habits. After receiving my NASM certification I realized a lot of the information I’ve been applying to my training method was incorrect. It took awhile to break those bad habits, and form new ones, but that wasn’t the hardest challenge. Eating a healthy nutritional diet on a day to day basis was difficult for me In the beginning. After doing hours of research I was able to put together an 80/20 diet ( 80% clean 20% bad). Throughout the years this diet has helped my physique progress without missing out on life.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I developed resilience at a young age from playing sports that transitioned over to entrepreneurship and business. When applying for my LLC and starting my business I was denied two times due to banking and application reasons.The third time my application was accepted. I went through a few road blocks that had me discouraged at times, but the thought of quitting never entered my mind. Instead I focused my mind on discovering new ways to get the task done.
