We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nikkie Davis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nikkie below.
Hi Nikkie, thanks for joining us today. One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.
If I was starting over today I would have taken my business more seriously in the beginning and invested more into education. Also, I would have executed more quickly, I sat on a lot of ideas and had missed opportunities. I would’ve focused more on networking and connection, understanding the power of a moment and capitalizing on it.
I also would’ve told myself to focus, plan and be more strategic. I was a jack of all trades and a master of none so everything and nothing had my time. I lived a very colorful life from being a dancer, stylist for music videos, a seamstress, makeup artist Youtube personality and a bath & body product maker. The common thread from all of this was my creativity.
Although there are many things that I would change on my journey, I don’t think I would be the person that I am today if I had not learned those lessons. Because now I understand why it is important, I don’t know if i would’ve grasped the lesson back then.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Heyyyy! LOL My name is Nikkie Davis and I am the CEO of Bubble Babez Bath Company & Bubble Babez University. Bubble Babez Bath Company started 13 years ago, my son had eczema. I was trying to find a natural solution that didn’t include chemicals or steriods because that is the only suggestions the Doctors gave. I said this cant be the only option and began searching for natural alternatives. I stumbled on a lotion bar recipe and that helped him tremendously. I went down the rabbit hole of experimenting with recipes and ingredients and the bug bit me, I was hooked!
I began sharing my projects/experiments with family and friends to try and they encouraged me to push forward with it & create a business. 13 years later we are still here. I am simplifying Bubble Babez now because the focus was starting to get way to broad and scattered. So I went back to basics and I am focusing more on natural skincare and makeup removers. Our motto is Simple Skincare Simple Ingredients. My most popular soaps are the oatmeal & honey soap, this is the soap that I made for my son and its still very popular to this day for people with dry skin and eczema. This is my facial soap I use it daily to help keep my dry patches at bay. Another popular soap is our Brush Me Off Soap it is a makeup cleanser that is all natural-It cleans, conditions, and sanitizes in one easy step. As a former makeup artist I know how daunting cleaning your makeup tools are so we simplified the steps so you need one product that is not only effective but its great for your skin too.
A proud moment for Bubble Babez was the brush soap collaboration we did with Juvia’s Place . We created a special limited edition of our Brush Me Off which sold on their website. I was also commissioned by Mrs. Peachie, Wiz Khalifa’s mom to create a custom hair oil for their locs. It was featured on GQ when they highlighted Wiz Khalifa’s grooming regimen.
Because of my experience with bath and body products in December of 2021 I created Bubble Babez University, I decided that I wanted to teach classes because one of my videos went viral on Youtube and I said maybe I am on to something. Since people wanted to learn how I made wax frosting for dessert candles and wax melts, I should probably teach an online class. Long story short, the class became a community, and the community became a live stream/podcast where I invite industry professionals, successful business owners and educators to share their knowledge with the community to help them grow and scale their business.
I also have a daily live stream called Coffee with Nikkie to inspire, motivate and empower aspiring entrepreneurs because there are plenty of times as entrepreneurs we feel like we are stunted, don’t know the next move to make, lack information, lack motivation & discipline, and the list can go on and on. I know how hard it was when I started out, you join forums and groups thinking, ok this is going to help me with my business just to find out that people don’t really want to see you win. I wanted to change that I wanted to create a safe space for product makers to ask any questions, to make connections, educate themselves on how to legally operate, and fellowship with like minded people that genuinely supports, uplifts and want to see you win!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I was about to launch my company in 2010 I got hacked and lost all of my data, photos, descriptions basically everything that I needed to launch my website. I had no idea what I was going to do. The computer was no good, I didn’t have anything backed up and had to start all over again! A friend of mine husband fixed computers and it “just so” happened they had an extra computer he fixed. They gifted it to me to help me get my business going all I had to do was pay for shipping. When it arrived it was a MAC computer in pristine condition looked brand new! So the computer problem was solved, the next problem was I never used or knew how to operate a MAC so I had to learn how to use it, to load up my products and create a new website.
I was upset, deflated, exhausted and didn’t even know how this was going to come together. Took some time but I figured it out and I was blessed that I had such a great friend group because at that time I was a Youtube personality and when I got hacked the followers were also gone. Everything that I worked so hard for was wiped out overnight. My friends, also Youtube Personalities all rallied together using their platforms to help promote my website and even joined me on a live stream on Stickam and it was a success. I was determined not to give up and I had friends who were very supportive and would not allow me to fail!

Have you ever had to pivot?
Well I think we all had to pivot when Covid hit. I had a storefront for 3 years before the pandemic it was going well I had plenty of space for production as well. I would host local business events for entrepreneurs/home based businesses, fundraisers, and workshops. After covid started to get serious and we had to be socially distant I ended up working from home more often. I was unable to keep the shop and had to move my operation back home. I sold all of my furniture because there was no space for it home and although I had storage the pandemic went on wayyy longer than we expected. So we had to take a few steps back but we still kept moving. At a different capacity but blessed that we were still operational as well as provide items that people needed and kept us afloat. On top of this there was a shortage of supplies and deliveries! Everyone was home and everyone was creating things and it was hard for makers to get supplies. We had to change the way we operated and it was extremely challenging but we pushed through!
