Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nikki Sullivan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Nikki thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The mission behind my wellness business and retreats is deeply personal and comes straight from my own journey. I was once in a dark and dangerous place where I felt lost, stuck, and unsure of how to find my way out. I didn’t even know to articulate what was wrong to ask or help.
Through trial, error, and a commitment to myself, I pieced together tools, practices, and methods that transformed my life, everything from meditation and mindfulness to alternative healing modalities and mindset work. Along the way they became lifelines that pulled me back to alignment with my soul, passion, and inner truth.
This mission is so meaningful to me that I’ve made significant personal sacrifices to bring it to life. I work a full-time corporate job and spend my own money to create these transformative experiences for women. Every retreat, workshop, and coaching session is designed by me and born from my belief that no woman should feel alone in her struggle to rediscover herself.
I’ve turned my journey into a mission to help other women find their own path back to themselves. My retreats and coaching sessions combine everything that helped me: self-discovery, holistic healing, emotional regulation, and the art of living authentically. The work is meaningful because I’ve seen firsthand how transformative it can be. Every woman I work with is a reminder of the strength and resilience we all have within us.
My goal is to create a safe, nurturing space where women can reconnect with their true selves, overcome limiting beliefs, and leave feeling empowered, confident, and aligned with their purpose. This mission isn’t just about wellness; it’s about helping women uncover the best version of themselves and step into a life filled with clarity, joy, and fulfillment.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and my life has been full of ups and downs. Growing up wasn’t easy. I dealt with an a parent who struggled with inner turmoil and passed at an early age, bullying in school, and some abusive relationships. It all left me feeling lost and unsure of myself for a long time, but those experiences also taught me how to push through and find strength I didn’t know I had.
Over the years I had worked hard to climb the corporate ladder, and even though I had made it to where I felt successful, I found myself dissatisfied in my career. I couldn’t figure out why I felt so unfulfilled. It eventually hit me that I wasn’t living in alignment with my true purpose, and I had no idea how to even begin finding it.
I had hit bottom. I was depressed, having panic attacks, and didn’t even want to get off the couch, and for no clear reason I began questioning if I even deserved the life I had been given. I had to make a decision: let this overtake me or do something about it. I chose to go on a wellness journey, trying new things, stepping far out of my comfort zone, and opening myself up to new possibilities. That journey led me to discover my purpose and completely transform my path.
Now, as a certified meditation and transformation coach, I host wellness retreats, do speaking events, and offer online coaching programs to help women find clarity, confidence, and purpose. My goal is to create spaces where women can step away from the noise of everyday life, reconnect with who they really are, and discover what truly makes them feel like themselves.
What makes my work unique is that I’ve been there. I’ve felt stuck, unsure, and disconnected from my own potential. That’s why I approach my coaching with empathy and understanding. I’m passionate about helping women work through their struggles, let go of what’s holding them back, and create a life that feels aligned and fulfilling.
If you’re just getting to know me, I want you to know that everything I do comes from my own experience trying to figure out life. I take everything I have learned and that has helped me and bring it to you in a way that is applicable to every day life. Our lives can throw a lot at us, but I believe we all have the power within us to create the life we want. If you’re ready to take that step, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the constant cycle of negative thoughts running through my mind. Thoughts like “I’m not good enough,” “I’m not smart enough,” or “I can’t do that” were on repeat for years. These weren’t just passing thoughts; they were beliefs I carried with me, shaped by years of self-doubt, and feeling out of place.
Growing up, there was no encouragement to dream big. In school, I wasn’t told about opportunities like college or scholarships, so I assumed they weren’t for me. I just figured I wasn’t meant to do those things, and it left me feeling stuck, written off, and unsure of my potential.
It wasn’t until I hit a really low point in adulthood, feeling depressed, anxious, and completely lost, that I realized how much these negative thoughts were controlling my life. I had to stop believing them and start doing something about it. I decided to enroll in community college, leaned on the support of family and friends, worked full-time, and eventually went on to graduate with honors from Old Dominion University.
Looking back, that was a time that showed me those old stories I told myself weren’t true. Unlearning those thoughts has been a journey, and it’s something I continue to work on.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the biggest examples of resilience in my life came from taking my darkest time and turning it into something that now helps others.
Over the years I have become very good at pretending everything was fine. From the outside, my life probably seemed good. I had a steady job and everything looked “normal,” but inside, I felt lost and empty like I was a shell and no one knew.
That’s how my work was born. I know what it’s like to feel like you’ve hit bottom and have no idea how to move forward, but I also know how much strength we all have inside us to create a better life. I turned my struggles into something meaningful, and I’m proud to help other women do the same.
