Nikki , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
I absolutely love owning a business- it truly makes me excited to wake up everyday and grow the business while having fun! The flexible hours are amazing, it gives me more time to be with my kids. I’m able to get tasks done whenever I can fit it in versus being gone all day everyday. I had a regular job before starting my business and I learned a lot within that environment and during the phase of life before kids I didn’t mind the all day schedule. But now, this is such. better fit for my lifestyle.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
In 2014 I fell in love with designing and hand-making jewelry I could easily layer and mix to wear to my corporate buying job. Women wanted the jewelry I was wearing, and it empowered me to create a brand. Each piece is designed and crafted using quality materials, and is intentionally created to look great alone or layered up.
Currently we make jewelry for around 500 stores across the country and we have our own store at the Dallas Farmers Market. We are open from 10-5pm 7 days a week- come in for a visit! We’re proud to give excellent customer service- my employees know that the number one thing I want is for people to leave happy with their purchase. If they have an issue with a jewelry piece we fix it or replace it. We try to help everyone pick out items that fit them at a very affordable price point.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I think being honest, consistant and personable are the 3 best traits to grow your social media. These days people resonate with authenticity, they know if you’re being you! Also being consistent even when you don’t yet have a following will help build an audience! Show your customers, yourself, tell your story, shown best sellers- switch it up with honest fun content and the people will come!
Also- don’t be afraid to ask people to follow your journey! If someone compliments my jewelry, I have them pull it up on instagram!
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Our best source is word of mouth! People come into our shop after buying pieces with their friends. People are happy to share a brand they have tried and loved with others. It’s very fun to hear them speak highly of us with new potential customers!
