We were lucky to catch up with Nikki Petty recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nikki, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I first came up with the idea of starting my boutique when I was in my undergraduate program in college. I was a student so I did not have much money but somehow I maintained to still pick out cute outfits and to dress nice and that made me realize that I was pretty good at shopping on budget and wanted to help other people accomplish that as well.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
BriightVibez Boutique is a online and Instagram store that consists of items with bold, bright colors and clothing that is affordable. There are items for both day wear, so if you want to go on a cute, quick target run and there are also items that are meant for a night out in the town.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A very valuable lesson that I had to learn was to take my time and that my biggest competition is myself. There are a lot of small businesses out there it is often easy to compare but I had to realize that there is only one me and there is only one BriightVibez.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Social media plays a huge role in keeping in contact with customers. BriightVibez has a instagram and a TikTok where we post content and keep up with the latest trends.
