We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nikki Pantelleria a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Nikki, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I’ve been in the service industry serving people making everyone feel super good in their skin and that’s how I got into Spray Tanning . I used to do Spray Tanning at my first job and I got taught there and I absolutely loved it because it was instant gratification now a lot of times people these days want that instant gratification and everybody feels so much happier, healthier skinnier they feel 10 times better in their clothes when they have a tan going on so I love to be a part of that, and I just wanted to be able to provide happiness for my clients a couple summers ago I was looking into this company. It was a mobile Spray Tanning and they would provide clients for us, but I did it for about a couple months and I wasn’t really busy with that and I was doing a lot. I was doorknocking I was hanging out my cards left and right and I figured hey if I am doing this for a company and only getting a little bit of a profit, why don’t I do this on my own and serve myself and make it more beneficial for me so then that’s when I came up with the idea of starting my own mobile Spray Tanning company this idea of bronze bar popped into my head when I was giving a facial and I was listening to really nice calm music and this download just came through my head and said bronze bar and it just kept repeating bronze bar, bronze bar, bronze bar and I loved the idea so that’s where the name came from and then I just started you know playing around on Canva making logos and I chose one and I started making an Instagram so that way people can find me and just word-of-mouth and you know being able to have girlfriends that let me spray them so walking advertisement is so good and then that’s basically how I started bronze bar. I knew it was worth my while because the first time I ever went to a client’s house and I Spray Tan 🤎 them and they were like wow this is such a good idea. I love that you come to my home. It makes me feel 10 times more comfortable I don’t have to worry about you know getting in my car is a tan gonna runoff on my leather seats. Is it going to sweat off? Am I going to ruin it? The answer is no because I come to you so that way I set all my stuff up you can watch TV while you’re doing it. I’m literally in and out. It’s about a 30 minute for me to Spray Tan and it’s so convenient and I love it because working moms people who stay home busy on the go. it’s just incredible and I knew that this was going to be a hit because everybody that I’ve Spray Tan 🤎 has said I love the fact that you come to me and I don’t have to go anywhere because after that the only thing that I have to do is pack up and head on home I knew this would work because there was nothing else around my area. That’s mobile Spray Tanning and if it is, it’s more in the city, not in the suburb areas and I’m really targeting people who you know love that luxury and love that comfort of not having to leave the house to get a service done. The most exciting thing about this is that it’s mine and I can control the narrative and it’s me who is Spray Tanning the client so I get the instant gratification of yes that makes them look and feel good and then they get the instant gratification of. Yes I look and feel so freaking good

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got my aesthetics license back in 2018 and I have been servicing and making people feel good ever since then it is one of the most rewarding jobs and fulfilling jobs I have ever life I’m very much a hands-on person so I need to be able to do in order for me to learn so that’s why I knew that bronze bar being mobile being hands-on was going to be the best thing that’s happened to me at bronze bar, we offer vegan cruelty, paraffin sulfate free Solutions because I care about the longevity of the Tan and I also care about what goes on your skin and my skin so I did extensive research to find what solutions would be best and I found a company based out of Canada that provides everything that I was looking for typically a lot of the time Spray Tanning solutions don’t really have a pleasant smell, but with our solutions, it has a beautiful cucumber very light scent a lot of them have coconut in there jojoba oil chocolate smells caramel scent so everything is very natural we have two different solutions. We offer a rapid solution which is a wear time of six hours max and then we have our regular solution which is an 8 to 12 hour time max so it’s good for people the day of it’s also good for people who want to sleep in it some people who don’t like to sleep in it can wear our rapid solution. If it’s the day of you can use the rapid so we do have lots of different options for everyone. What separates me apart from everybody else is that I am mobile I come to you. I make it comfortable. You don’t have to leave the house. And that’s the problem that I solved by doing this mobile. I am most proud of myself for executing and putting this together and sticking with it because I know that in the future, this is going to be something that I am going to really really enjoy being able to do it full-time and it’s not just about selling a service it’s about a feeling the feeling you get when you have a Spray Tan 🤎 it’s like no other in this world and you only can experience that feeling by getting a spray tan.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy that has helped me build my clientele is word-of-mouth and posting on social media. Honestly word-of-mouth is the best. I have a couple clients who are returning and they brought in their friends girlfriends mom’s just because of how my service is how I am with people and how I make people feel so I definitely say word-of-mouth is going to be your biggest Support as far as getting clients growing clients and maintaining them

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I keep in touch with my clients by emailing them. I send them text messages and I’m also going to now start to do a email marketing strategy which is going to be amazing. You know releasing emails just like talking about the longevity of Spray Tan what you can do to prolong and what you can do to maintain it what you Can do to prep and take care of the Spray Tan and how I maintain my brand loyalty is just being true to myself and being true to my brand which is a luxury mobile Spray Tanning company bringing the convenience and comfort to you
