We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nikki Mixon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nikki , thanks for joining us today. Any advice for creating a more inclusive workplace?
I have always wanted to be a person that anyone can feel comfortable around and let people be their true authentic selves. Both at my friends salon I work at, The Chariot Room and with my band we strive to make sure this is the vibe we give off.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Nikki Mixon aka Montrose’s fave Brow Expert for over 10 years.
I’ve been working in the beauty industry since 2012 and I continue to perfect my skills everyday. I worked with Benefit Brow Cosmetics as an Arch Expert for over 4 years until I moved to Anastasia Beverly Hills as the manager for the Brow Studio in the Houston Galleria Nordstrom. Over the years I’ve trained with Nars, Dior, Murad and many of your favorite brands. I enjoy making every client feel comfortable in their own skin and educating them on something new every visit. From simple brow shapes or lymphatic facials to fashion shows I can do it all.
I specialize in Brow shaping + Lamination, Lash Lifts, Holistic Facials and Special Event Makeup.
I’m a Los Angeles Transplant living in the yeehaw state. I love spending time with my husband and tending to my many indoor plants. In my free time, I play guitar and sing in my band,

All my services are done with pure intention and love.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I treat each one of my clients like a close friend and am always in a good mood at work to make sure they are comfortable to come in!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being able to work and get paid enjoying what you do. I suggest everyone to strive to be their own boss and control their life as much as they can.
