Nikki, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Mediocrity stifles creativity and forward progress. Often we can name what is keeping us mediocre, we just do not know how to change it. Understanding the tools a leader needs to coalesce their team and catapult them out of their stasis will help them overcome this mediocrity. Leaders must have courage, confidence, and fearlessness to break free of the status quo so that their organizations can make transformative change.

Nikki, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Nikki McCord is a public speaker and facilitator with over 15 years experience leading businesses through complex problem solving. As a public speaker, Nikki empowers leaders to make decisions that are inclusive, collaborative, and have longevity by building trust within teams and making decisions that challenge the status quo. As the founder of McCord Consulting Group, Nikki works with organizations as a facilitator, creating frameworks for teams to identify their pain points and create solutions that are realistic, attainable, and transformative.
Nikki earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame where she also obtained a minor in Latin. She received her Masters of Public Policy at Michigan State University. McCord Consulting Group is an international company, with offices in the United States and Panamá.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Courage. Confidence. Fearlessness. These are the three words I impart to my clients to empower them to overcome mediocrity and break free of the status quo.
I kept repeating these three words – courage, confidence, fearlessness – as I navigated Panamá City. My goal in expanding my business to Panamá is to empower businesses based in Panamá to relinquish past practices that are stifling growth, and instead create new systems that promote team trust and lead to organizational advancement. Business in the United States is not the same as business in Panamá. I needed to break free of my own status quo if I was going to attain business success in my new home.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
