We were lucky to catch up with Nikki Luu recently and have shared our conversation below.

Nikki, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?

Growing up, my grandma raised me. Although, she is not here with me today.. a lot of her is instilled in me.

Everything she has taught me growing me impacted me in a huge way in my life and in my career.

She always lived her life with pure happiness no matter what challenges that she was faced with. She raised me and my sister . I always thought that she was the strongest woman in my life and all along, she was raising me and my sister to be strong just like her.

My grandmother always encouraged me to execute my plans and my goals. Anything I’ve ever came to her and talked to her about, she always cheered me on. She never once thought that I could never do anything .

My grandmother has always instilled me that no dream is ever too small. And no matter what challenges that I am ever faced with, she pushed me to keep going.

So without here here today is truly a loss but she will forever live in me .

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Nikki. I am the Artist and also Educator. I’ve been in the beauty industry for 19 years. I’ve always been drawn to anything beauty related . About 5 years ago, I started Permanent Makeup and that’s been my new found love. Being able to make others happy and confident is my type of vibe.

I am disciple to my craft. Everyday is a new day to create better work . Everyday and every new client is a new experience.

What sets me apart from others would be my integrity. I choose to work with integrity. I don’t go in for just the money. I truly care about my clients and their results.

Permanent makeup can make clients feel beautiful and confident. To wake up and feel beautiful with low maintenance is such an amazing feeling.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy to growing my clientele is to create great work on every single client. By doing this, my clients are happy and when they walk out the door, they will refer me to their family and friends!

This has been the most effective strategy to gaining clients because new clients will walk through my doors trusting me because they have seen my work and also referrals goes a long way!

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

My favorite book has to be “You are a badass’ by Jen Sinero.

Reading this book significantly impacted my entrepreneurial thinking and it literally lit every entrepreneurial flame in me.
