Nikki, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I personally am hiring a social media manager at the end of this year to handle all social media related issues I feel as though if you want to run a successful business you need a reliable team behind you that you can comfortably delegate responsibilities too
I feel as though the way the world is functioning now you can’t run a successful business without a strong social media presence

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Allow me to introduce myself I’m Nikki Jones and I own Pop it in your mouth gourmet popcorn I have been in business for over 3 years and I have over 20 gourmet flavors on my menu
I started my business as a side hustle in 2019 that originally began as alcohol infused popcorn, I was a physical therapy assistant at the time working on a military installation and one day I had the bright idea to add more to my plate lol but I can honestly say it was a great decision because it revealed to me my creativity and leadership skills
By 2020 covid happen and the world shut down and I made that very easy decision to leave my job and stay at home with my son and focus primarily on my popcorn business which by then I began to add the gourmet flavors and that’s when orders really began to increase adding flavors like cookies and cream, strawberry cheesecake crunch and butter pecan really took my business to the next level
I’ve been able to collaborate with other local business owners I’ve even held my own pop up shop which was a success and I’m looking forward to making it a annual event
I’m mostly proud of the creativity and taste of the flavors I love first time customers they are always in such awe of delicious the popcorn is and that’s the best feeling is to make someone smile with something you’ve created
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of clientele for me has been word of mouth and social media the majority of my word of mouth clients come from social media if they are first time clients they will either explain they’ve had the popcorn before from a friend or at a event and that’s how they became a customer
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I’m currently working on this since I receive a lot of my customers from word of mouth I’m currently working on a incentive program for my consistent customers as well as a birthday club
