We recently connected with Nikki Jackson and have shared our conversation below.
Nikki, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The mission of Just A Queen With Goals Empowering Women is deeply rooted in my personal journey and life experiences. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the struggles that come with lack of resources, guidance, and support, particularly for women and underserved youth. These experiences shaped my perspective and planted a seed of purpose in me—a desire to create something meaningful that could help others overcome similar challenges.
When I relocated to Arlington, Texas, in 2016, I saw the overwhelming need in my community for programs that address not only practical issues like financial literacy and education but also the emotional and mental health challenges that many face in silence. For me, this mission is deeply personal because I understand what it feels like to lack direction, to face trauma without a support system, and to feel stuck without a clear path forward.
That’s why I created Just A Queen With Goals Empowering Women—to be a source of hope, guidance, and empowerment. I believe everyone deserves a safe space to heal, learn, and grow, and I am passionate about fostering environments where these uncomfortable but necessary conversations can take place. By offering programs focused on mental health awareness, trauma healing, financial literacy, and youth development, I’m working to break generational cycles of struggle and replace them with cycles of opportunity and resilience.
This mission is meaningful to me because it’s about more than providing services—it’s about transforming lives, inspiring others to rise above their circumstances, and building a community that thrives together. My journey has taught me that when we know better, we do better, and I want to equip others with the tools and confidence to take charge of their futures.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Nikki Jackson, and I’m the Founder and Executive Director of Just A Queen With Goals Empowering Women, a nonprofit organization I established in 2021 to uplift and empower underserved youth and women. I was born and raised in Minnesota, but relocating to Arlington, Texas, in 2016 provided me with a new perspective on the challenges communities face, particularly those struggling with limited resources.
My journey into this work stems from my personal experiences. I’ve faced challenges such as financial hardship, lack of guidance, and the emotional toll of trauma—experiences that many in underserved communities endure. These struggles sparked a desire within me to not only overcome my circumstances but to create opportunities for others to do the same. I became a certified life coach to build a platform where I could provide actionable solutions and inspire change.

Our programs combine practical skills, emotional support, and a safe, inclusive environment to help individuals thrive.
Another key aspect of our work is our ability to foster difficult but necessary conversations about topics like mental health and trauma. These conversations help individuals feel seen and understood, building a foundation for real growth.

Our programs are transforming lives, and the feedback we receive from participants—whether it’s a young person gaining confidence in their abilities or a family improving their financial situation—fuels my passion.
I’m also proud of the recognition we’ve received, including multiple community impact awards. These honors validate our work and motivate us to continue pushing forward.
What I Want People to Know
If there’s one thing I want people to know about Just A Queen With Goals Empowering Women, it’s that we are more than a nonprofit—we’re a community. We’re here to inspire, uplift, and equip people with the tools to succeed. Whether you’re a young person seeking direction, a parent looking for resources, or a woman in need of empowerment, our organization is here to meet you where you are and help you grow.
My journey, my struggles, and my triumphs have taught me that transformation is possible for anyone. My goal is to inspire others to believe in their potential, take action, and create a brighter future for themselves and their families.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One story that truly illustrates my resilience stems from a difficult period in my life when I was struggling with financial illiteracy. Like so many others, I was never taught about credit, budgeting, or saving, and those gaps in knowledge led me to make poor financial decisions that impacted not only me but my family. I felt overwhelmed, ashamed, and stuck in a cycle I didn’t know how to escape.
Instead of letting those circumstances define me, I made the decision to take control. I began educating myself—reading books, attending workshops, and seeking advice from experts. Slowly but surely, I started to rebuild my financial foundation, learning the importance of budgeting, saving, and using credit responsibly. That journey wasn’t easy, but it gave me the tools to not only change my own life but also to empower others.
This experience inspired one of the core programs of Just A Queen With Goals Empowering Women: financial literacy education. I realized that my struggles were not unique—so many people, especially in underserved communities, face similar challenges. By sharing my story and teaching what I’ve learned, I’ve been able to help others break free from the same cycle I was once trapped in.
This chapter of my life taught me resilience because it forced me to face my fears and take responsibility for my future. It reminded me that no matter how daunting a situation may seem, there’s always a way forward if you’re willing to learn, adapt, and persevere. Today, I use that lesson as a foundation for everything I do—whether it’s leading my organization, mentoring youth, or guiding women toward their own breakthroughs. It’s proof that challenges can be stepping stones toward a greater purpose.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I started Just A Queen With Goals Empowering Women, I knew that social media would be a powerful tool to amplify our mission and connect with the community. However, I didn’t have a big following, nor did I fully understand how to use social media effectively. What I did have was a clear purpose and an authentic message, which became the foundation for building our online presence.
How I Built My Audience
Authenticity First
From the beginning, I focused on being real. I shared my personal journey—my challenges, triumphs, and why I founded the organization. People resonated with my story because it was relatable and genuine. I wasn’t just promoting an organization; I was sharing my heart.
Consistency is Key
I made it a point to post regularly. Whether it was updates about our programs, community events, or inspiring quotes, I stayed consistent. This helped people know what to expect from our page and kept the engagement steady.
Engaging Content
I focused on creating content that added value to my audience. From sharing tips on financial literacy to raising awareness about mental health, I made sure that every post had a purpose. I also used photos and videos from our events to showcase our impact.
Community Interaction
Building an audience isn’t just about posting—it’s about engaging. I made it a priority to respond to comments, messages, and even interact with other community pages. This created a sense of connection and made people feel seen.
Collaborations and Networking
Partnering with local businesses, other nonprofits, and influencers in the community helped broaden our reach. Every time we collaborated, we gained new followers who aligned with our mission.
Leveraging Milestones and Testimonials
Highlighting our achievements, such as community awards or impactful stories from program participants, helped build credibility and inspired others to join our journey.
Advice for Those Just Starting
Know Your “Why”
Before you start building your social media presence, be clear about your purpose and message. People are drawn to authenticity, so let your passion shine through in everything you post.
Start Small, Stay Consistent
Don’t feel pressured to post every day. Focus on consistency—whether it’s three times a week or once a day—and build from there.
Engage with Your Audience
Treat your followers like a community, not just a number. Respond to comments, ask for their input, and make them feel like they’re part of your mission.
Use Visuals
Photos and videos grab attention more than text alone. Invest time in creating visuals that reflect your brand’s personality and mission.
Collaborate with Others
Don’t be afraid to reach out to others in your niche. Collaborations can help you tap into new audiences and build credibility.
Be Patient
Building an audience takes time. Focus on building genuine connections and providing value, and your following will grow naturally.
Social media has been a game-changer for Just A Queen With Goals Empowering Women. It’s allowed me to share my story, expand our reach, and connect with people who believe in our mission. For anyone just starting, remember: your authenticity and consistency will always be your greatest assets.
