Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nikki Coleman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nikki , appreciate you joining us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Wow! How did we go from idea to execution? Just Reign was merely a thought in 2019. Battling some health issues pushed me. I knew I wanted to create a business that make me feel good and the woman who looks like me feel the same. Something that was mine that I enjoyed.
I knew I had a vision for what I wanted to see but not sure how to begin. So, I started the research process. I studied other small businesses and compared major jewelry brands I loved. I studied the quality of jewelry, material, what I could afford, and what women I plan to market could afford. I wrote down questions I would like to know and customers. Youtube became my daily go-to guide for over a year. I learned the type of packaging I loved, where to locate a vendor and determine the best vendors, and so much more. I ordered from various vendors and tested the jewelry as well as made my friends wear it to see how they feel with it. Is it cheap, can it get wet, etc?
I planned to launch my brand in August 2021. I met with a group of entrepreneur friends to look at my packaging and how it made them feel when opened. They each said NO and try again. I was provided some additional information to assist in researching how to make Just Reign stand out from the next jewelry business as well as why they should want to purchase it.
December 2021, I was ready and launched. The process is tedious and not overnight. We are still learning and working to enhance Just Reign daily. To move from one phase to the next you must do your homework and study the businesses you strive to have. Each day I made it a habit to learn something new.
We are now fully launched and excited for the growth that is in store for 2023 and the years to come.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Nikki from Danville, VA and currently residing in Valley Cottage NY. My passion has always been to help the next person grow and enhance a better version of themselves. Whether working as a social worker or a business owner I always strive to make others feel and look good. I have always had a love for fashion and fashion accessories. I am the girl who my friends will text and say, “Nikki please dress down”. I love accessorizing and seeing what a simple anklet can do for your look. I love taking a chill day look and adding accessories to still look stylish. This business was created to have my own. To have a baby I can grow from the ground up and see blossom. Struggling with menopause moved me to create this baby. Just Reign is your everyday jewelry which you can wear to work, date night, or a fun evening with your friends. Our jewelry is affordable for the everyday working woman looking for a simple look but can catch the eye of others. I am extremely proud of the growth Just Reign jewelry had over this last year since launching. We started with anklets & bracelets to now offering to customize necklaces. Seeing beautiful women when I am out wearing the jewelry and looking amazing in it means the most. We want our customers to know how important they are to us when shopping so for every purchase, a handwritten note is sent thanking them for their support. This means a lot to us and especially from our customers to know time was taken out to remind them of how awesome they are to support us.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn is that I don’t have to work a 9-5 to be successful. It does not define your success. I was always taught to go to college, get a “good job” and that’s life. I did not grow up seeing entrepreneurs or businesswomen who looked like me. I grew up in the country raised by my grandparents, aunts, and uncles. I never knew you could have it all. I only believe I had to get a “good job” to pay my bills. I learned the hard way and had to unlearn those thoughts as I met awesome businesswomen who came up with an idea and executed it! I have a lot of amazing entrepreneur friends who showed me I can work a 9-5 and create a business that I love. I am more than just that girl from a small town.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Emails! My best way to stay in contact with my customers is through email. Encouraging customers to subscribe to our website and follow us on social media. We do not send out daily emails but try to send out an email every other week to create that rapport and option for our customers to respond. We like to add a little humor in the email as well. A smile can take you far these days. We strive to respond to each customer or supporter following us on social media. I have also gone live so they feel they can connect with me and get to know Nikki. I created Cocktails & Conversations over the summer to connect with my customers and followers. We discuss the jewelry, and the brand and played games. We also strive to correct any mistakes surrounding an order placed. If a mistake is made with an order or they had an issue with the jewelry upon receipt, we work with the customer for a solution. This is a major goal for us to foster brand loyalty. My customer knows they can contact us, and they will get a response for guidance on the next steps.
