We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nikhil Verma. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nikhil below.
Alright, Nikhil thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents are such lovely and caring people. They stressed the importance of education, not strictly just good grades, but allowed my brother and myself to be creative and allowed us to go on our own journeys to experience the world. We did well in school, and we also maintained very great social lives, as well as great high school athletic experiences.

Nikhil, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have a deep passion about the musculoskeletal health field, fitness, injury recovery, injury prevention, and the realm of what pain is. I didn’t like how big hospitals and university centers were limiting the treatment of our aches and pains, so I set out on my own to make a comprehensive approach to interventions that I can provide for individuals that are looking for alternatives to opioids and surgeries. That includes non opioid medications, injections- including regenerative medicine (Platelet rich plasma, prolotherapy, “Stem Cells”), minimally invasive surgeries, and much more. I also take pride in discussing diet, nutrition, stress reduction, and much more with my patients. I mainly want to help people get back (or keep doing) the things that they love doing most- from playing with grand children to the weekend warrior to professional athletes. It is challenging though. I have to compete with large orthopedic groups, universities centers, and other private practices. Also, my philosophy doesn’t always work for every patient, so it is disheartening when I can’t help people.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
I say this all the time: If money was not an object, I would still do what I am doing. I love it, and I love teaching it and explaining it. I love learning more about it. I think if anything else, I would have just started diving into the research at a much younger age.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Be a learner, even if you have learned it 100 times before, you can learn something new, or in a new perspective. Read from a variety of books and sources. Don’t take any one person or word for gospel. A challenge I have for people: can you hold two opposing thoughts in your mind, with the possibility of them both being right, both being wrong, or somewhere in between, with realizing your bias. If you can do that, you have opportunity to grow and adapt
