Success is a reflection of completion and achievement, whether in small tasks or significant life goals. It’s a testament to the power of setting objectives and seeing them through to fruition. This journey towards success is paved with discipline, a fundamental element that I used as the foundation and the driving force behind achieving my goals. Discipline involves a commitment to your path and the perseverance to stick with it, regardless of the obstacles that may arise. It’s about how badly you want something and your willingness to work tirelessly until you achieve it. I used this method throughout my entire career and entrepreneurship journey. By dedicating myself to my 9-5 job, seeking further certification, and consistently working hard, I demonstrated a classic example of how discipline acts as a catalyst for success. I then started to increase my salary by getting a Project Management Certification and because I worked hard in my position I received raises every quarter. I then transitioned into real estate with no prior knowledge but a strong drive to learn by turning a 6-bedroom house into a multi-unit property making residual income from my tenants. The most compelling aspect of my success story is how I leveraged my knowledge and experience to contribute to the community by starting a nonprofit organization focused on teaching financial literacy and entrepreneurship to youth in underserved communities.

My journey as an entrepreneur commenced during my time at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University (A&T), where I dared to dream beyond the confines of conventional career paths. With no formal background in fashion, I embarked on the bold venture of launching an online boutique from my college dormitory. Teaming up with fellow students passionate about fashion, we breathed new life into thrifted apparel, infusing them with fresh buttons, zippers, and fabrics. This fusion of creativity and sustainability laid the foundation for my nascent brand.
As my online boutique gained momentum, I seized the opportunity to expand my horizons and diversify my product offerings. Venturing into trade shows in Las Vegas, I forged crucial connections with manufacturers, enabling me to broaden my inventory and cater to a wider audience. This strategic expansion marked the beginning of a transformative journey characterized by resilience and adaptability in the face of evolving market dynamics.
The path of entrepreneurship is fraught with challenges and uncertainties, yet each obstacle presents an opportunity for growth and innovation. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and fortified by internship experiences, I navigated the complexities of the corporate world while nurturing my entrepreneurial aspirations on the side.
