Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Wylie
Hi Nicole, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In the beginning of 2019 I was feeling very depressed and not knowing what to do. I turned to a friend who did reiki and I booked an appointment. From this spurred so many things in my own healing journey. I started getting reiki monthly and even became attuned to reiki in November of 2019. When the pandemic hit in March of 2020 I was working in a hospital and coming home. To pass the time I started running, doing yoga daily, I bought books to teach me more about spirituality, tarot cards, yoga, and I even took classes on chakras. I also became a certified yoga instructor. I went inside physically with the restrictions, but also mentally filling myself with knowledge and healing. I started offering virtual yoga classes, tarot readings, and distance reiki sessions. When restrictions started lifting I started doing reiki for people out of my home office. The energy work and yoga portion of my business started during a world wide pandemic.
In 2021 I suffered an ectopic pregnancy after 2 years of trying to get pregnant. I locked myself in my home again and when I needed to make prizes for a bridal shower I ordered the supplies online to make soaps and bath bombs. These were a hit at the shower and people asked if I would make them more and I realized I could make this into part of my business. I was already helping people so why not help them with more natural products. I suffer from eczema so I know how hard it is to find good quality product that don’t break the bank so the other half of my business began. I started making soaps and bath bombs in my kitchen and posting about them on social media. I saw an opportunity to sell them at vendor shows so with the support of my husband and loved ones I registered. I started researching more products like lotions, body butters, oils, and scrubs and added more products to my business. In March of 2022 I launched my own website making it easier for people to shop online and track my inventory better for in person shopping. For 2 years I ran my business out of my home slowly taking up my kitchen, my office, and a spare bedroom. At this time I was going to need to rent a space or my husband would need to build me a space. In March of 2024 the perfect space was up for rent and my friend became my landlord. April of 2024 was a whirl wind with getting my space ready, moving all of my things out of my house, fulfilling a huge wholesale order for a podcast, getting laser eye surgery, turning 30, and pulling off a grand opening.
Every time I needed some healing it turned into a catalyst of also helping others heal along with me. Being able to share the tools that help me and help others heal is such a gift and not one that I take lightly. People come to me at their lowest points when they need help, at their highest points when they want to celebrate, and also to help those that they love heal or celebrate. It’s an honor to be let into so many lives with my little business.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing is ever easy, but that’s what makes the great parts worth it. Self doubt creeps in when you have bad months, vendor shows that are flops, product launches that don’t go over like you thought, and the constant ability to compare yourself to others. On social media you can see so many people that are posting the great things that happen to them and you can easily forget that they had to go through the trenches too to get where they are. So many times it would’ve been easier to throw in the towel and decided to scrap my business. When people make rude remarks, when the people you thought would support you don’t, and when it feels like one failure after another it gets tough. If I didn’t have an amazing support system I would’ve thrown in the towel. When I have a bad day or am feeling low I know I can turn to my husband, my best friends, my family, and my fellow small business owners to lift my spirits.
Also making sure I don’t over do it and take time for myself is super important. You can easily run yourself into the ground if you overwork yourself constantly. I’ve found that when I’m working too much and getting to that point of exhaustion that if I take a step back to relax and refill my own cup that everything will flow and be more abundant when I come back.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business helps you feel more aligned – mind, body, and spirit. I offer reiki sessions, intuitive healing sessions, tarot and mediumship readings, womb work, deep dives, yoga classes, sound baths, moon circles, and more. Helping you heal yourself with various modalities that I have found success with. I’m always learning and seeing what else I can bring to my clients to help them heal, feel more relaxed, grounded, and lighter. I am also a registered nurse so I bring therapeutic communication with me during my sessions which sets me apart from other healers. My apothecary part of my business offers a variety of luxurious bath, body and hair products, candles, and accessories. All of my products are made with natural, clean, and even organic ingredients. I never use fragrance oils and my products can be used by anyone. I want to offer people luxurious products without the luxury price tag that they can use without worrying about what they are absorbing through their skin.
