Nicole, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
When I launched my business I told myself I would never increase my prices so much that I wasn’t affordable for families. My husband and I had our first child very young. We were just 20 years old and still tying to figure our careers out but of course we still wanted to be able to have pictures taken of us. Unfortunately, there weren’t any photographers that had prices within our budget. So for the first few months, we couldn’t afford to have any done.
We eventually talked with a family friend who had done some photos before who was willing to take our photos for the price we could afford. Still to this day, I’m so grateful we found someone like that who understood that not everyone can afford high end prices.
And that is exactly why I always offer multiple mini sessions a year under $100. So that everyone gets the opportunity to have beautiful memories with their family captured!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
That’s an interesting question because it’s not something I typically think about. I just think that being a good person and providing each client with the best experience is what’s given me the reputation I have today.
I put my entire heart into every single session and I believe that really comes through in every image.
How did you build your audience on social media?
My social media presence isn’t huge but I believe it was built first with my supportive friends and family. And it has grown over the last year by providing an amazing experience from start to finish with every client. I believe that by providing quality personalized experiences for every client is key to growing and making lasting connections.
The advice I have to anyone wanting to build their social media would be to let your work/brand/etc do most of the talking. But also, run some ads here and there, get out to networking events and use hashtags on instagram.
