We were lucky to catch up with Nicole Victoria recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nicole, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there an experience or lesson you learned at a previous job that’s benefited your career afterwards?
So, there I was, following the “get a degree, land a corporate gig” script that society pushes on us, convinced it was my ticket to the good life. You know how it goes.
Well, guess what? Reality had other plans. Despite the decent paycheck, I was drowning in student loans, barely scraping by. Living from one paycheck to the next became my new normal, no matter the big numbers on my paycheck.
So, I thought, “Alright, just need to grind harder, snag that promotion, and – problems solved!” I had these grand dreams of becoming a top-tier executive, rolling in a fat 6-figure salary. I imagined the luxury lifestyle – the high-end cars, those expensive clothes.
I had the idea to network and pick the brain of a seasoned female VP at my company. We sat down for lunch, and she hit me with a reality bomb. Her kids barely knew her, and her husband had to constantly remind them, “we get to have all these nice things because mommy works so hard!” Ouch – talk about a wake-up call.
It hit me like a ton of bricks – I wasn’t in this to sacrifice my life away. I wanted to work smart, not be chained to my desk. Let’s face it, who’s gonna remember those late nights at the office? Your kids, and maybe your dog. That’s about it. So, lightbulb moment: time for a serious shift.
And that’s when my investment journey began. I realized success isn’t just about stacking cash. It’s about having time for family and friends, while still keeping that money growing in your account. Here’s to finding that middle ground, chasing those dreams, and ditching the whole “workaholic” thing. I want to work to live, not live to work.
And the real rich know that the true meaning of wealth is owning your time, not the golden handcuffs.

Nicole, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Nicole Victoria is a renowned financial coach, published author, and dedicated advocate for women’s financial empowerment.
Her transformative journey from being burdened by $40k student debt to becoming a millionaire at the age of 30 has equipped her with unique insights and strategies that she shares with others through her coaching programs.
With her signature approach, “The Makin Money Moves Method,” she helps women unlock their financial potential and achieve success without sacrificing their passions or working harder.
Having experienced her own financial struggles after university, Nicole understands the challenges many face in managing money effectively. She was saddled with student loan debt and struggled to save (let alone invest and grow her wealth).
However, driven by her desire to break free from financial limitations, and knowing she was meant for more, she embarked on a transformative path – she decided to take lessons from the rich, and learn how money truly worked (so she could use it to her advantage).
Nicole’s approach is anchored in the belief that personal finance is 80% mindset and behavior, and only 20% tactic. While the tactic (like how to invest, how to pay off debt, what accounts to use) is important, most people falter and stay stuck because they don’t build their financial foundation through their habits and behaviors before they start.
By delving into the psychology behind her own financial struggles, she gained a deep understanding of the reasons holding her back. She dismantled the notion that budgeting and restriction were the paths to financial success and discovered a whole new world of possibilities.
Through her journey, Nicole developed her unique “Makin Money Moves Method.” This method focuses on understanding the psychological barriers to financial growth and combining it with smart investment strategies.
Armed with this approach, she successfully eliminated her $40,000 debt and accelerated her wealth creation journey. At the age of 30, Nicole achieved the remarkable feat of becoming a self-made millionaire.
As a financial coach, Nicole guides women towards financial success by teaching them her proven techniques. Her coaching packages are specifically designed to help women increase their income without working harder, save more without sacrificing their lifestyle, and invest with confidence. Nicole firmly believes that true financial freedom lies in the fusion of mindset, behavior, and strategic investment.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I started my social media accounts from scratch in 2020, and I have to admit, I was worried that no one would follow me or care about what I had to say, considering I had no existing following. However, I saw it as an opportunity to build my social media presence authentically and without any pressure from family or friends. This allowed me to be myself without fear of judgment and just focus on providing value to my audience.
One of the key strategies I followed was to ensure that each post I shared provided massive value to my audience. Whether it was educational content, inspirational stories, or helpful tips, I made sure there was a compelling reason for someone to read or view my content. By doing this, I wanted to give people a good reason to follow me and keep coming back for more.
Additionally, I made sure to share my personality on social media. I believe that authenticity is crucial in building a genuine audience. Not everyone will love you, and that’s okay. But by being true to yourself, you will attract the right people who resonate with your message and personality, and that’s what matters.
A fundamental belief I hold is that if you consistently provide value, the following will come naturally. People are drawn to valuable and engaging content, and they are more likely to share it with others, which helps in growing your audience organically.
Lastly, before posting anything, I always asked myself, “What’s in it for them?” I wanted to ensure that every piece of content I shared had a purpose and a benefit for my audience. By keeping their needs and interests in mind, I could create content that truly resonated with them.
So, my advice for those starting to build their social media presence is to focus on being authentic, providing value, and understanding your target audience’s needs and interests. Don’t be afraid to show your true personality, because that’s what will attract your tribe – the people who genuinely connect with you and appreciate what you have to offer. And remember, building an audience takes time and consistency, so stay patient and keep delivering value in every post you make.
