We recently connected with Nicole Vardo and have shared our conversation below.
Nicole, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I made the choice to run my own social media because I want to grow it organically and I understand my art to feel comfortable enough posting it.

Nicole, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I live in a little corner of West Texas, where the vast landscapes and vibrant sunsets provide endless inspiration for my creative pursuits. While many might assume I’m a full-time photographer, my primary profession is actually in engineering. By day, I navigate the structured and analytical world of engineering, which provides a fascinating contrast to my artistic endeavors.
In my free time, I indulge my passion for photography. Despite being self-taught, I’ve developed a unique approach that focuses on capturing the true essence of moments. I steer clear of rigid methods or uniform editing styles, as I believe every shoot is distinct and deserves a personalized touch. My goal is to tailor each session specifically to you, ensuring that your photos not only capture your image but also tell your story and reflect your unique vibes.
Through my lens, I aim to create narratives illuminated by light, transforming fleeting moments into timeless memories. In the coming months, I plan to continue exploring new creative horizons. This includes traveling more with my camera to capture diverse scenes and perspectives, as well as dabbling in film photography to expand my artistic repertoire. My journey is driven by a love for both the precision of engineering and the expressive freedom of photography, creating a dynamic balance that fuels my creative spirit.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes, the mission driving my creative journey is rooted in the belief that you can achieve anything you set your mind to in this life. This mission is about embracing the limitless possibilities available to each of us and pursuing our passions with unwavering confidence. Trusting your own creative instincts is a cornerstone of this mission. It encourages you to listen to your inner voice, embrace your unique perspective, and boldly follow your creative path, regardless of external opinions or doubts. This mission is about empowering yourself to explore, create, and innovate without fear, knowing that your creativity has the power to shape your reality and inspire others along the way.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Absolutely, unlearning lessons is a crucial part of personal growth and development. One significant lesson I had to unlearn was the belief that some opportunities only come around once in life, and if you don’t seize them immediately, they might never come again. While it’s true that certain opportunities are time-sensitive, this mindset can create unnecessary pressure and fear of missing out. It can lead to hasty decisions driven by anxiety rather than thoughtful consideration.
Through experience, I learned that life is abundant with opportunities, and while some may be unique, others can be recreated or replaced with equally valuable ones. This unlearning process taught me to approach decisions with a more balanced perspective, trusting that new opportunities will always arise. It also helped me to be more patient and discerning, ensuring that the choices I make align with my values and long-term goals, rather than being driven by a fear of scarcity. This shift in mindset has allowed me to navigate my journey with greater confidence and peace, knowing that each step, whether taken or passed, contributes to my growth and fulfillment.
