Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nicole Simon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nicole, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Success means something different to everyone, and that’s what makes it so personal and unique. For me, success isn’t about comparing my achievements to someone else’s; it’s about striving toward the goals I’ve set for myself and my family. I consider myself successful in many ways, but what truly drives me is the desire to work harder and harder to create generational wealth for my loved ones. Success also means being financially free. I want to make the choice to work because I love what I do, not because I have to. We spend too much time working to not enjoy what we’re working toward. I don’t believe in simply sucking it up to get a paycheck—I want to feel fully fulfilled and happy with my choices. If I’m missing family time, it must be for something truly important to me. It’s that balance of passion, purpose, and freedom that defines success for me.
Nicole, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For those who may not know me yet, I’m Nicole Simon, also known as Property Mom—a proud mom of three and a passionate Residential Specialist and Real Estate Investor with over 17 years of experience. My journey into real estate began with a deep love for houses—their stories, quirks, and the potential to transform lives. Real estate became a way for me to channel that passion into a career where I can help people navigate one of the most significant milestones in their lives.
Balancing motherhood and a career isn’t always easy, but it’s at the heart of who I am. As Property Mom, I aim to show up authentically, balancing the chaos of family life with the drive to provide exceptional service to my clients. My mission is to make real estate approachable, whether you’re buying your first home, upgrading for your growing family, or investing in your future.
I specialize in helping clients buy, sell, and invest in real estate, and I bring a unique perspective to the table. Living and working in St. Louis, I know the area intimately and pride myself on delivering hyper-local expertise. My approach is deeply personalized—I listen, I strategize, and I provide the support my clients need to achieve their goals. Whether it’s staging a home to sell quickly, finding the perfect neighborhood for a family, or helping investors maximize returns, I strive to create success stories for everyone I work with.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with people on a personal level while maintaining a high standard of professionalism. I understand the emotions tied to buying or selling a home, and I bring empathy, patience, and expertise to every transaction. My brand, Property Mom, reflects my commitment to building genuine relationships while staying relatable as someone who is also navigating life’s challenges.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how I’ve built my business around trust and empowerment. My goal isn’t just to help you close a deal—it’s to make you feel confident, supported, and excited about your next chapter. Real estate is more than a transaction; it’s about creating opportunities, building wealth, and making dreams come true.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and my brand, it’s that I care deeply about the people I work with. I’m here to help you every step of the way, balancing my dedication to my family with my passion for helping you find success in real estate.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Resilience is a cornerstone of my journey in real estate. Over the years, I’ve faced some of the most challenging markets and emerged stronger, more knowledgeable, and more dedicated to serving my clients. My career began before the 2008 housing crisis, an era that tested every agent’s perseverance. During that time, I specialized in short sales and foreclosures, helping clients navigate the complexities of distressed properties and find stability during uncertain times.
Twelve years ago, I made the bold decision to relocate to St. Louis, pivoting to an entirely new market. It was a challenge to rebuild my network and establish myself in a community where I was a newcomer. Through hard work, adaptability, and a commitment to understanding the local market, I built a thriving career in St. Louis real estate.
Then came the pandemic. Like many industries, real estate was turned upside down during COVID-19, and the markets have continued to shift in its aftermath. These changes have required agents to stay flexible, embrace new technologies, and rethink how we connect with clients. Through it all, I’ve remained steadfast in my mission to provide my clients with clarity, guidance, and results, no matter the market conditions.
My resilience comes from a deep passion for what I do and a belief that every challenge is an opportunity to grow. Whether it’s helping families find their dream homes, assisting sellers in maximizing their property’s value, or guiding investors through uncertain times, I’m committed to adapting, innovating, and delivering exceptional service.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Books have always been a big part of my life and my personal growth. While I enjoy diving into suspenseful thrillers for fun, I’ve also found immense value in reading business books that inspire and shape the way I approach my work. One book that made a lasting impression on me is The Whuffie Factor by Tara Hunt. I read it during college, and it completely changed how I think about client relationships.
The book emphasizes the importance of creating genuine connections and wowing your clients by providing extraordinary value and treating them with care and respect. It’s not just about delivering results—it’s about the experience you create for the people you work with. That philosophy has stayed with me throughout my career. Whether I’m helping someone buy their first home, sell a property, or explore investments, I strive to make them feel supported and valued at every step.
For me, reading isn’t just about learning new strategies; it’s about broadening my perspective and finding ways to continually improve, both personally and professionally. And when I need a break, you’ll usually find me curled up with a good thriller—it’s the perfect escape after a busy day!
