We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful NICOLE SAGE. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with NICOLE below.
Alright, NICOLE thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I’m hoping to build a legacy rooted in social justice, advocacy for those under represented and courage. I want people to remember me not just for the work I did, but for how I made them feel—seen, heard, empowered. Whether through storytelling, advocacy, or lifting up others behind the scenes, I hope my legacy is one that opened doors for people who felt overlooked or underestimated. I want to leave behind a blueprint for how to move with integrity, even in industries that often value image over substance. My legacy is about helping to shape culture for the better, creating impact that lives on well beyond me.
I hope they’ll say that I showed up—fully, fearlessly, and with heart. That I was a superconnector, a builder of community engagement, someone who didn’t just talk about change but lived it out loud. I hope they’ll remember me for standing up when it wasn’t easy, speaking truth when it wasn’t popular, and making people feel less alone in the process. And I hope they say I left the world brighter, bolder, and a little more just because I was here.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Nicole Sage—a PR strategist, creative director, and founder of Sage PR Consulting, a boutique agency based in Atlanta that bridges the gap between culture, social justice, and media. I work with authors, bands, film actors & directors, politicians, activists, nonprofits, and purpose-driven brands to tell stories that matter. My work isn’t just about landing headlines—it’s about changing narratives, shifting perception, and creating impact that resonates far beyond a news cycle.
I got into this business from a deep love of storytelling. I started taking acting lessons at the age of six, and from there my passion for performance evolved into a passion for film, media, and communications. I’ve worked in theater, film, live events, editorial, and tech—so I bring a multidimensional understanding of the industry to every project I touch.
At Sage PR Consulting, we specialize in PR campaigns, brand development, media strategy, red carpet press runs, community engagement, and reputation management. But more than that, we’re solution-based. We help clients who are looking to scale their message, break into new markets, get in front of the right people, and elevate their public image without compromising who they are. Whether I’m getting a client featured on the front page of the AJC or helping a grassroots organization secure support from city leaders and senators, my approach is strategic, authentic, and fiercely protective of the client’s vision.
What sets me apart? I don’t believe in cookie-cutter PR. I invest in relationships, I care deeply about the communities we serve, and I bring a background in both entertainment and advocacy that allows me to move fluidly between red carpets, community meetings, and boardrooms. I’ve traveled coast to coast for my clients—from Sundance to red carpet premiere’s in NYC, from the Hollywood Bowl to the Georgia State Capitol.
I’m most proud of the integrity I bring to my work. I’ve helped get hip-hop history recognized at the state level, guided nonprofit campaigns that changed lives, and worked with legends in music, film, and activism—while still being a present and intentional mom to my 10-year-old daughter. That balance, that wholeness, is what I want to reflect in my brand.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and my work, it’s this: I’m not just a publicist—I’m a purpose-pusher. I help people amplify what they were born to do, and I’m honored to be trusted with that kind of mission.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most defining moments of resilience in my journey was leaving a 16-year marriage while raising my daughter and running my business. For years, I was surviving behind the scenes—nurturing clients, building campaigns, showing up on red carpets and in boardrooms—while slowly losing pieces of myself in private.
When I made the decision to leave, it wasn’t just about starting over personally, it was about reclaiming my voice, my power, and my peace. I had to rebuild everything—from my home life to my sense of self—while continuing to deliver excellence for my clients. That experience taught me how to set boundaries, honor my own worth, and lead with even greater empathy. I became more intentional with the kind of work I took on and the type of people I surrounded myself with. And my business didn’t just survive—it grew stronger, because I was finally free to show up fully and unapologetically as myself.
Resilience, for me, isn’t about pretending everything is fine—it’s about facing the storm, doing the healing work, and emerging with more purpose than ever.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Honestly? A mix of hard work, bold honesty, and learning some lessons the hard way. I can be too honest at times—I’ve rubbed people the wrong way, and I’ve definitely burned a few bridges along the way. But every one of those moments taught me something. I’ve taken accountability, done the inner work, and have even started rebuilding some of those bridges. Growth isn’t always graceful, but it’s necessary.
What’s helped build my reputation is showing up consistently and authentically, flaws and all. I don’t pretend to be perfect. I just do the work, I am evidence based—strategically, passionately, and with a whole lot of heart. And over time, people have come to trust that. Some may not vibe with my style, and that’s okay. I’ve learned to stop trying to be for everyone and instead pour into the people who get me.
Those are the clients who say things like, “You crushed this campaign. You do the work of 10 people—take a nap already!” They see me. They see the intention, the fire, and the results. And those are the relationships that fuel me. That’s where my reputation lives—at the intersection of truth, hustle, and real connection.
