We recently connected with Nicole Pols and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nicole thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
You know, it all started back in the days when I was a kid, snapping photos with those old film cameras—remember those 12-packs and 24 or 36 exposures? I used to save up my own money just to capture moments with my friends and everything else in between.
And then, when my kids were little, I hit the jackpot winning a Canon camera. From that moment on, I was like a paparazzi, capturing every little milestone they reached.
As life goes on, horses became a big part of my world—cutting, ranch life, rodeos—you name it, I’m all in. I adore this lifestyle and the truly incredible people I’ve met with along the way.
For me, it’s all about holing on to moments. I’ve experienced firsthand the hard work and love that goes into it. Whether it’s in the show ring or the connections during a Horse & Rider session, my goal is for clients to look back at my photos that I took for them and feel the deep emotions again they shared with their horses.
Starting my photography business was a leap into the unknown, but I’m taking it one day at a time. I truly believe in the American dream—that with hard work, passion, and a love for horses, I can turn this passion into something truly meaningful.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
When my clients express their love for the images, it really fuels my passion for horse photography every day. Every moment of preparation and all the effort that goes into it, up to the point when they see their photos, is absolutely worth it. Hearing them say, “I could cry, I love these,” then they change their images on Social Media – it is incredibly rewarding and keeps me inspired to create more images for fellow horse lovers.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Honestly, most of my clients become friends. I stay connected with them through social media or phone calls. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness their achievements with their horses and cheer them on from the sidelines.
Especially with the youth , it’s amazing to see how they grow more successful with their partners, no matter what they’re pursuing together.
