Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nicole Onwuasor Tricha Diehl. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Sweet Creek Boutique is a small boutique on the border of Queen Creek and San Tan Valley. We are made up of over 25 small local business. Offering many different items for shoppers. We have some unique items that can only be found regularly here. Sweet Creek was started because the two of us each had our own small business. We would set up at local markets and events. We wanted to be somewhere permanent so we did not have to set up and tear down every weekend. We had a lot of encouragement and support from other local small businesses to move forward with opening Sweet Creek too. These small business wanted something they could set up in permanently in this area as well.
You will feel at home when come through the doors at Sweet Creek. It is not just a place to come get some shopping done. We have embraced a wonderful community of friends that are regular shoppers and love to hear what is going on with them outside of Sweet Creek.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
We met the day Nicole was born. Not knowing that 31 years later she would become my business partner. We have always been a close aunt and niece. When the idea came up of us having a business together, we talked briefly about how sometimes family partnerships can take an awful turn. We addressed the issue of family always coming first and if there were any issues between us we would abandon the business before we would let it take a toll on our family dynamic. We both feel very strongly about this. Family is the most important thing.
How did you build your audience on social media?
There is no other way than to just start building. We set up an instagram account first and just started posting all things that were going on in our store daily. We learned how to cross share with Facebook and just continued from there. Our social media director, Nicole, has taken some classes to learn more of the intricacies of social media. It is definitely a learning curve, but the information is out there and if you can read you can learn! We have also had some events that have expanded our social media following such as pop up events in our parking lot and giveaways that we have promoted on social media.
