Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nicole Oheb. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nicole, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I take great pride in the environment I have created for my clients. We share parts of our lives that most people in our day to day aren’t aware of in the few hours we get to spend together. I take great pride in being a source of advice and comfort for all of my clients. A judgement free zone of women who listen and understand each other. I hope my legacy will be of one where people always felt comfort in my space and how they could have always looked forward to spending a few hours each month to decompress and feel heard.

Nicole, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a hairstylist born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. I started my cosmetology career in Santa Barbara where I went to school and got my license. Doing hair and living by the beach… it doesn’t get any better than that. Currently working in Woodland Hills i’ve worked many jobs from wedding hairstyling to being on set with models on covers on magazines. I do everything from cut to color, men, women, and children. After those experiences I decided I work best in a private environment with clients I see regularly and form connections with. Forming connections with my clients is very important to me and having my own private workspace allows me to do so. I love making my clients feel beautiful in their own skin and enhancing the canvas they provided me to work with. I take great pride in knowing my clients feel safe and welcome in my chair and it is more than just a stylist client relationship.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media has become a main way to gain clients for hairstylist and all of the beauty industry. For me it was difficult because I was never much of a tech savvy person! I had to learn how to make reels and videos for potential clients to see my work. The main way I would say works best to gain interaction and clientele would be consistency. Posting a picture or video everyday so people see you and recognize your content on their feed. There are so many posts on instagram as a whole that content tends to get lost. That is why consistency is key and the more you post, the more likely people are to see your content.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I try to advertise my business on different platforms to reach as many people as possible. Yelp has been a great source of new clients for people in my area who are looking for a stylist. Another amazing source of new clients has been referral from current clients. My loyal clients are always amazing at getting my name out to their family and friends who are in search of a new stylist.
