We recently connected with Nicole Nappi and have shared our conversation below.
Nicole , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so one thing we think people don’t talk about nearly enough is investments – either time or money. What’s one of the best or worst investments you’ve made and what did you learned from the experience?
Business coaching is the best and worst investment I’ve made so far in my business. I hired one amazing business coach that I feel really got me to where I wanted to be at the time in just deciding to go in a different direction. Then a little while later, I hired another coach that ended up being the wrong choice for me. At the time, I also really felt like a coach could help me figure things out that I truly needed to figure out myself. I would say business coaching can definitely be helpful but be weary of people who make you feel like its the only way. There are so many ways you can go when trying to grow your business!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello, I’m Nicole and I am an EFT Tapping Teacher! EFT Stands for emotional freedom technique. This technique is an amazing energy to move through your emotions. I personally offer 1:1 sessions, in person group session, as well as, live group sessions to eduate others about EFT and learn how to use it to help work through their tough emotions. I also have a whole library of guided EFT Meditations that are free on Insight Timer and You Tube! I personally started this journey when I started struggling with driving anxiety. EFT really helped me to move a lot of that energy through my body , and start to think about my anxiety differently. So of course, I wanted to share this with others! I’m most proud that I am out there doing this everyday and putting myself out there which has been the hardest part of running a business for me.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Currently, I had to take on a full-time job, which I really didnt want to do. I left a full-time job I was at for almost 10 years last year. So I obviously didn’t want to go back to a “regular ” job but I felt its what would help me feel more secure with my finances right now. I also feel like it’s allowing me to have space and figure out which direction I want to go next in my business becauses right now, I’m not sure. I think this was super nessesary for me and I’m glad I have my degree there for me when I need it.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I’ve had to unlearn, and I still feel like im unlearning, that doing what you love every day isnt realistic. I think that maybe, doing what you love every second of every day, all the time may be unrealistic but I believe we can figure out how to do what we love every day. So many people have such jaded opinions of what a job is. I was like that for most of my life. When I started my business, I realized that its completely undescribable to be able to create things from within you. I haven’t yet figured out how I want to make it more full-time but I truly beilieve it’s possible. It takes hard work though and a lot of people don’t want to deal with that part of growing a business, which i totally understand. Sometimes it’s just easier to stick with what we know and be comfortable. I just realized that I don’t want to stay in that place.
