We recently connected with Nicole Mosher and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nicole thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Too often the media represents innovation as something magical that only high-flying tech billionaires and upstarts engage in – but the truth is almost every business owner has to regularly innovate in small and big ways in order for their businesses to survive and thrive. Can you share a story that highlights something innovative you’ve done over the course of your career?
The most innovative thing Ive done, is creating the wedding services for my business. I’ve always offered traditional pet sitting services, but only after my own wedding, did I realize there was a much needed service I had to offer… Wedding Pet Handling. For my big day, I absolutely had to have my Golden Retriever there, as he was such an important part of my life. I mean, he was my Fur BABY! While planning, I began to realize how difficult it was going to be in order for me to actually get him involved….He wasnt allowed on the limo, wasnt allowed inside the venue and wasnt allowed at our hotel. Not to mention, I had already invited all of my close family and friends, so who was going to transport him, handle him, and take care of him after? This is when I realized I wanted to create Furever Friends, and I must say, it has been the most rewarding experience ever. Being a fur mama, I completely understand how much our Fur Babies mean to us, and believe that everyone deserves to have all of their favorites present on their special day, especially their Fur Baby. We handle all the stress, from transportation, to handling, to any and all pet care needed in between. Seeing the pure joy on my clients’ faces when we arrive with their VIPup, is priceless. Im extremely grateful that I get to provide such an important service to those in and around the CLT area.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Its safe to say, that I’m completely dog obsessed. I have been pet sitting for over a decade now, and truly love all pups. Growing up I’ve always had family pets, and knew I always wanted Fur Babies of my own, in any capacity. Once I graduated from college with my PT degree, I decided I wanted to start pet sitting and loved it! My small side hustle turned into a complete obsession, and grew into a full operation offering all pet sitting services from walks, to drop ins, to sleepovers, with add-ons including medication administration, bathing and sitter pick up/drop off. Working FT in the corporate world just wasn’t for me, so I turned my efforts into building my business as well as my own pup world. The first pup I got was a Golden Retriever (the BEST BOY), second was a rescued Norwegian elkhound/Dachshund mix (the BEST GIRL) & third was a re-homed Puggle (Cute as a button)! Living in Buffalo, NY, I knew I wanted to add wedding services and also knew I wanted to move to Charlotte, and that’s just what I did! Being such a dog friendly city, I launched Furever Friends, offering both traditional pet sitting services as well as all wedding pet services, and the result has been nothing short of amazing. For weddings, my team and I provide all pet transportation, handling and cares, so clients don’t have to stress one bit. I also provide wedding pet attire and unlimited props to utilize for the special day, making the day that much more fun! After the big day is over, I always send a photo album of all the pup pics, and I must say, clients love them each and every time. Being experienced pet owners, all of the Furever .Friends staff is well equipped to handle any situation, so worry not, you can always count on us to make the best decision for your Fur Baby, keeping your day as seamless as ever.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I can give all the credit to fellow wedding vendors and venues in the Charlotte area for the majority of new client referrals I receive. Being a relatively unheard-of, niche, wedding vendor in the area, makes it difficult, so making meaningful and lasting connections with fellow vendors is of utmost importance to me and my business. Networking and building a good rapport with vendors truly makes a difference, and I can’t recommend this enough to any new wedding vendor in the area. Bridal shows and various marketing partners also help to spread the word, not to mention, are always a great time!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The biggest thing that has helped me build my business in the CLT area is my genuine love for my “job”. Pet sitting, at weddings or otherwise, doesn’t feel like a job to me. I love what I do and it makes me extremely happy, only motivating me further to continue building my business as well as the connections I have within the community. It’s obvious to tell, I love all pets, and strive to provide only the best care. Like the name implies; welcome to Furever Friends, we can’t wait to meet you!
