We recently connected with Nicole Moran and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nicole thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I have that thought everyday! HA
Opening The Yoga Barre six years ago has been an incredible journey! I absolutely love my studio and the wonderful community I have built, but it is a lot of work! Teaching has always been a passion of mine, as I have been doing it for over 25 years.
What I didn’t realize when I opened the studio was the other roles I’d have to take on – accountant, handyman, and marketing exec, just to name a few. Not to mention having to be a cheerleader and counselor to keep everyone motivated and the business running smoothly! I literally feel like I work 8 days a week!
Although it can be stressful at times, this journey has changed me for the better. I have learned so much about people, business and myself.
Nicole, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi! My name is Nicole, I am the owner of The Yoga Barre. We are a small women owned hot yoga and fitness studio. Our first location has been open for 6 years in Temecula, CA and we are thrilled to announce that we will be opening a second location this summer in Del Mar, CA.
It all started with a passion for dance and performing as a teen, which eventually led me to teaching and exploring the fitness industry. I have been teaching for over 25 years now. After my kids grew up I thought it was time to open up my own space. Our studios are beautiful, clean and welcoming – We make sure to put in the extra effort and attention to detail so you can get the most out of every class and walk away feeling your best!
We offer classes for experienced yogis and beginners alike with a mix of all ages.
I am most proud of our professional team of instructors and loving community!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I do not have a big presence on social media, still working on it, but this is what I have learned.
#1. Be consistent with your brand… colors and messaging.
#2. Don’t be scared to post. Be you!
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Word of mouth. I like to take care of and go the extra mile for the clients I have.
