We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nicole Loiten. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nicole below.
Nicole, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successful means to find God’s purpose for your life and then following it. There is no success without God. Once you find out your purpose the next step is to work out a roadmap to achieve that goal. To be successful, you need to be dedicated to the goal until it is achieved. It will also require flexibility because God’s plans and purposes for our lives can be different with each season. As such, you will have to be connected to God to hear what He is saying.
To be successful requires a lot of sacrifice and hard work. It means you will have to say no to some things. It may mean you have to stay away from some relationships. It may mean you cannot go to certain places. But it’s also saying yes to those things that will lead towards accomplishing your goal. It will mean surrounding yourself with people who can help you to accomplish your goal. It means you will spend the time and resources needed for your personal development. There will be many roadblocks and stumbling blocks along the way but the joy that comes with the success will be worth it.
Nicole, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am the CEO and co-founder for one of South Florida’s fastest growing nurse registries, Gentle Loving Home Care, LLC. We currently service 8 counties in South Florida. In 2017, we started Gentle Loving Home Care because it was always our passion to provide assistance to the sick and vulnerable in our community. I was already a registered nurse and my husband is a business analyst with a MBA and many years of business experience so it was a no-brainer for us to enter the healthcare space. We knew we would be successful because God led us into the path so we knew He was with us. So although the road was filled with many challenges, we persevered. We dedicated ourselves through the process and we continue to change the lives of many individuals on a daily basis.
Since our inception, we have also provided employment for hundreds of healthcare professionals. As a nurse registry, we provide staffing services for children and adults wherever they call home. We also have the ability to provide staffing services for hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, etc. We provide staffing services for registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants and home health aides. Our company allows individuals who require additional healthcare services to receive them in the comfort of their homes without having to go to a facility. Sometimes, our elderly loved ones would rather be at home than having to live in a nursing home for the rest of their lives, our company solves that problem by providing those individuals with trained caregivers who can take care of them at home. There are also occasions when family members simply need a break from having to take care of their elderly family members and our company also provides respite care to assist with those times. Gentle Loving Home Care also provides home care services for many children with special needs such as autism, downs syndrome, cerebral palsy and numerous developmental disabilities.
What sets us apart is our responsiveness to the needs of our clients. We are always there when they need us. We are proud of many things that we have accomplished. One of the things that we are most proud of is the quality of life that we allow our clients to enjoy in their homes. We have seen numerous individuals experience a restoration in their health. We have witnessed the miraculous healing of many others who were sent home to die but with the right type of care they survived the odds. Gentle Loving Home Care is more than just a nurse registry, once you engage our services we become family.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I met my business partner who is also my husband in 2015 which was 2 years before we started Gentle Loving Home Care, LLC. He actually visited a bible study that I was teaching and we’ve been together ever since. When we met he was working as a business analyst and trading in his spare time and I was working at the hospital as a registered nurse. We were both passionate about entrepreneurship so once the opportunity presented itself we decided to go for it.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
We build our reputation within the market by offering quality service to our clients and by always being responsive. Our team of healthcare professionals are highly trained and vetted. We maintain a spirit of excellence within our company that is unmatched. We have received numerous awards and reviews as being the best nurse registry in South Florida. We have set the bar high so our daily goal is to outdo ourselves knowing that we have a higher purpose and that is making sure that God is pleased with our work.
