We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nicole Hinchman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nicole below.
Nicole, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew I wanted to be an art teacher while watching my mom in that profession. I would line my Barbie’s up after their “fashion show” and would teach them art class. It wasn’t until I lost my father in 2019 that my fashion blog and influencing came to life.
I realized that NO one is promised tomorrow so what else do I love and know I’m good at, fashion and styling! 3 1/2 years later here I am living my dream!
Nicole, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As explained in the last question is how the ball got rolling! At 23 I had a full time job, built a home and was married! My parents divorce while in high school was my motivation to prove I can do great thing’s coming from a broken home! Hinchology is my study of fashion and how I use the principles and elements of art and design to create my looks and to help others find their potential in their style to give their best everyday!
I love to help woman feel good about how they look to feel their best and give their best.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I had meet a woman that seemed to be a glamorous and fun fashionista. We took to one another and started to see one another more and more at gatherings that we were mutually invited to. One night out to dinner her true self came out. Saying things about my photos on my social media that they were not good! My response was “ that’s funny because you use the photos I took of you on your social media page”.
While eating dinner she said, “ you know the only reason those woman were talking to you was because of me , your too fat and they wouldn’t speak with you other wise”
I honestly couldn’t believe those words came out of her mouth!
Let’s say that was the last time I ever spoke with her!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
It’s all about connecting NOT collecting! I learned that in a class I took with Gwen Lane.
You have to give time to talk and connect! That’s the backbone of your social media! Being yourself and getting to know your audience!
