We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nicole Harlot. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nicole below.
Nicole , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Collaboration. Understanding that there are more than enough resources to be successful and doing it alone is working harder not smarter. Working together with others, specifically in industries with focus on women, allows for positive outcomes to happen quicker and more robust. When we focus on our zone of genius and stay within in, more productivity happens. It also allows for rest phases when they are needed because we are all cyclical humans. We help fill gaps. Other women are the secret to your success..
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a Mother of 4 from New Jersey who has benefited both personally and professionally from having a vast community of resources in the Perinatal world. I am a Master Practitioner and Trainer of Womb Energetics & Neuro Somatics and am truly passionate about sharing Perinatal Resources and Professionals to women across the country. My Vision for this Collaborative is to THRIVE together in all aspects of our business and share our passion for supporting women & mothers! My mission is to expand the impact that each of us can make on women in the US. Together we can connect, grow and thrive while simultaneously changing the maternal mortality crisis in this country. You’re invited to a dynamic space designed to empower perinatal professionals by enhancing their business, fostering relationships, and creating valuable resources for women and mothers. It offers an international virtual community with educational libraries, exclusive events, and innovative projects aimed at expanding client support and impact. Members can engage in shared learning and contribute to off-meta marketing opportunities like a magazine and podcast, all in a supportive environment free from algorithmic and content restrictions.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Genuine connections, community events and word of mouth referrals has truly been the best source of new members and clients of the Perinatal Resource Collaborative. The mission is about being the Village for the Villagers and cultivating collaborative connections so of course those fuel new opportunities. Creating partnerships with other Perinatal Organizations to create reciprocal opportunities and discounts has also been successful for growth. Staying away from social media ads and money/time wasters has been crucial as well.
Have you ever had to pivot?
My entire entrepreneurship journey was a huge pivot. As I entered into Motherhood in 2017, I was climbing a corporate mortgage career and working a typical 9-5 and then was hit by severe postpartum OCD and anxiety and after my own healing journey and the realization of how many women and mothers actually go through similar experiences, and the lack of education and support- it propelled me into the perinatal space. I have pivoted MANY times since then trying to find my place in the perinatal world, first focusing on postpartum coaching for mothers, then creating a complimentary and alternative modality called Womb Light® in 2020, and then created a training program for other professionals to impact more mothers through 2024, where I began the Perinatal Resource Collaborative to cultivate intentional collaboration and amplification of Perinatal Professionals. Pivoting for me has been rewarding and an evolutionary journey to find where I truly can create the most impact in this space, and I am excited for this current initiative and the projects attached to it.
