Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nicole Fabian . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Nicole , thanks for joining us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
My parents created a beautiful family. My mother was unable to have any more biological children after having me. When I was five years old they adopted my brothers who were three and four at the time, from Korea. The moment we picked them up at JFK International airport, I felt my family was complete. I always wanted siblings and now they were here. My parents did a beautiful job of bringing us together and protecting our new and special family unit. My parents made it their mission to make sure their children had all of their needs met. Both my parents worked multiple jobs on opposite shifts to make sure the bills were paid and we had all the resources we needed. My mother navigated the healthcare system to make sure my brothers’ medical needs were met. She advocated for my brothers to have their educational needs met with Speech/Language services, which helped them develop their English rather quickly. I remember my parents relying on me as an interpreter of sorts in the beginning. Somehow I was able to let my parents know what my brothers needed without knowing the language they spoke. Part of me believes this is how I developed my intuition at such an early age and saw how important it is to trust your gut when knowing how to respond to the needs of children. I don’t remember a time when I have checked in with my intuition or “gut” before responding to a child or person and having been wrong or responded in the wrong way. My family taught me that when we are heart-centered and connected from a place of love we will know what others need.
The love my parents created in building our family is the foundation of how I continue to live my life. Loving my own children and creating a loving and caring home for them has been my favorite job. Creating a loving and nurturing classroom that accepts all children and finding ways to support their needs was also fulfilling for a long time. Now, finding ways to help parents, caregivers, and educators develop their intuition and discover how they can meet their needs and the needs of their children they serve has been a beautiful challenge that I look forward to seeing grow.
Nicole , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My intuition and spirituality has led me through life and I most recently started my own business, Nicole Fabian Consultant. A Special Education Teacher for over 20 years and most recently a Behavior and Intuitive Consultant. My life’s work has been to create safe learning environments that embrace the whole child. Trusting and working with my intuition has helped me navigate the most challenging circumstances and I have been guided to start offering others support through intuitive readings and Reiki sessions and consultations. I offer my expertise and intuition to help individuals, families, and teachers find peace and healing in their homes, in the school setting, within their careers, relationships, and most importantly within themselves. I’m a certified Special Education Teacher and Certified Reiki Practitioner. I have completed The Vagus Nerve Program by Jessica Maguire and have a strong understanding of how to support and repair the nervous system. I also completed Debra Silverman’s Applied Astrology Level 2. I combine my understanding of Astrology and Human Design along with my intuition to support my clients. I offer individual and group intuitive readings, Reiki and energy healing sessions, 1:1 team, family or individual consultations and astrological readings. All my services are offered online. In September 2023, a book I co-authored will be published and available to the public, there you will be able to learn more about my story and more about why I started my business.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I have had to unlearn is a stable income and retirement will take care of me in the future.
I had a call to become a teacher at the age of eleven, my soul knew I would teach one day and I looked forward to making that a reality. My family loved this plan because the education system has an amazing retirement plan.
It is really difficult to let go of the certainty of having money in retirement. When you become an entrepreneur and take the leap of supporting yourself on your own, you take so many risks financially and the guarantee isn’t there anymore. You all of sudden have all the responsibility to self-create your own financial freedom and security. My parents made sure they built financial security into their lives. They didn’t always have their needs provided as children and I watched them work 2-3 or more jobs as I grew up, to make sure we had everything we needed. They were on a mission to move up the class system and make sure me and my brothers didn’t suffer.
I learned to work hard and to seek a good retirement plan with good benefits. This way I would be able to provide for my family. What I am learning now is that my business has the potential to provide me more than teaching ever could, financially, emotionally, spiritually and physically. I have the ability to bring in abundance with my business. I can create joy, passion, and financial freedom. Entrepreneurship can be risky but it also can be expansive As you navigate the risks and learn to overcome the obstacles you reap beautiful benefits and freedom. I hope living my work-life experience, shows my children, that it is important to have healthy work boundaries and that you can receive abundantly while working with joy.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social Media is a great and powerful way to build clients and to be able to reach out to people throughout the world. I have created an amazing group of supporters, friends, teachers and coaches through social media. Most of my training and the way I have developed my gifts and business is from finding people on their social media platforms.
I personally struggle with putting myself out there on the social media platforms. Recently, I decided to hire a Virtual Assistant to help me build my platform and develop marketing strategies to bring in a larger audience and promote the work I do.
I love to serve and to heal. I enjoy when I can work from my heart space and in order for me to feel clear in my energy I would prefer to not have to promote myself or my business. So, I have asked for someone else to come and help me with the gifts that come naturally to them. I would recommend that others honor their authentic selves, if you love the social media platform and feel great about putting yourself out there, awesome! I celebrate your important and unique gifts. For those that struggle, don’t let your fear or lack of knowing how to do it hold you back. Look for resources and people to help you along the way.
