We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nicole Dworczyk a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Nicole, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

My mission in photography is deeply rooted in my passion to evoke feelings of nostalgia, wanderlust and joy. With visual storytelling, I want to capture moments that transport the viewer to another time and place and fill them with a sense of longing and wonder. My goal is to share the beauty and magical moments of the world through my lens and inspire others to embark on adventures, preserve memories and find joy in the simple things in life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m Nicci and I’m a photographer from Germany, with a love for storytelling through visuals. While I have been pursuing photography for several years, about five years ago I found my true calling in landscape photography and developed a deep love for capturing the beauty of nature. This journey has taken me on adventures near and far, from exploring the picturesque landscapes of my home in Bavaria to travelling across Europe and even overseas to places like New Zealand.

My academic background in social work gave me valuable insight, but I eventually discovered that my true passion is photography. With my camera in hand, I want to tell stories that spark emotions and inspire wanderlust in the viewer. My photography style is characterised by a dreamy aesthetic where I create a unique and powerful visual experience by playing with the moods and settings of my surroundings. In this way, I invite others to join me on adventures, to see the world through my eyes and perhaps catch a glimpse of the magic that surrounds us.

On top of all that, I started my photography business with my partner and boyfriend. It’s been an incredible journey building something meaningful together, combining our passion for photography with our love for each other. Together, we’re not just capturing moments; we’re creating memories and sharing our vision with the world.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

Photography allows me to immerse myself in the beauty of the world, finding inspiration in the smallest of details. Whether it’s the golden glow of a sunrise casting its warmth over a rugged coastline or the ethereal stillness of a mist-covered mountain, photography allows me to capture the stunning variety of nature’s incredible wonders. Knowing that my photographs transport viewers to these serene and awe-inspiring landscapes, even if just for a moment, fills me with a profound sense of connection to the world and gratitude for the opportunity to share its beauty.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

In my journey as a photographer, I’ve had to let go of the heavy burden of perfectionism and comparison. For too long, I found myself constantly comparing my work to others, which only lowered my confidence and hindered my progress. It felt like I was stuck in my own way, unable to fully embrace my unique style and vision. But with time and reflection, I realized how much this mindset was affecting my creativity. I discovered that true growth comes from embracing my own path and celebrating my individuality rather than trying to measure myself against the standards of others.
Letting go of perfectionism and comparison has been incredibly freeing for me. It’s allowed me to develop a deeper sense of confidence in my abilities and a greater appreciation for the beauty of imperfection. Now, I approach photography with a sense of ease and authenticity, unburdened by the need for external validation.
I’ve come to understand that my journey as a photographer is a personal one, filled with ups and downs, but each step forward is a celebration of my growth and resilience. It’s a reminder to trust in myself and find joy in the process, no matter how imperfect it may be.
