Alright, Nicole thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with talking about how you serve the underserved, because in our view this is one of the most important things the small business community does for society – by serving those who the giant corporations ignore, small business helps create a more inclusive and just world for all of us.
Olivia’s Bridal House is the first and only bridal boutique in Houston to specialize in curvy and plus sized bridal gowns size 14 and better! Since 2016, we have strived to provide exceptional customer service, fashion forward looks, and a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere to our brides.

Nicole, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am the founder and owner of Olivia’s Bridal House, Houston’s first curvy and plus size focused bridal boutique. Before opening Olivia’s Bridal House, I was a top level HR Professional for a number of years, but knew that I always wanted to use my people skills to help empower other women.
While shopping for my own wedding gown years ago as a street size 14, I was really disappointed in the sample size dresses that were offered to me. Especially because a lot of them didn’t fit!
I eventually found my dream dress, but this experience stayed with me. I could not stop thinking about the large population of everyday women who are not catered to, those who are forced to not have the bridal shopping experience of their dreams. So I thought, I must do something about this! Deciding to open a bridal boutique that would carry sample sizes that cater to curvy and plus size brides and become a safe haven for brides nationwide was my only solution. It is truly my belief that all brides deserve to feel special.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Being able to deliver what our mission of We Honor Curves means has been integral in our growth. As the first niche bridal boutique of our kind in our area, we have become the blueprint for others who aspire to cater to this underserved population of brides. It is imperative that we remain ahead of the bridal fashion trends, deliver exceptional service to our clients, and foster an environment of inclusivity.
