We were lucky to catch up with Nicole Cramer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think it takes a very strong WHY, a lot of passion & perseverance, the ability to focus, a lot of mindset work, and the willingness to let go of the person you are right now in order to become the version of you that creates the success in your life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hi there! My name is Nicole Cramer, and I am an entrepreneurial-based Sales and Conversation Coach, Keynote Speaker, Corporate Sales Trainer, and an Exactly What to Say™ Certified Guide. I founded my coaching and training company with the intention to help women entrepreneurs remove the challenges and fears around selling and learn how to use conversations to make more sales, get more clients, and have a bigger impact in the world.
Before pursuing my passion full-time, I had a very successful 7-year corporate sales career. However, I realized that my true calling was to help others achieve success in sales and communication. I help entrepreneurs, sales professionals, and corporations to master their authentic sales process, achieve success, and maximize their sales wins by bringing the art of communication to a whole new level.
My journey started as a high school math teacher for 15 years at Beverly Hills High School. Despite my “lack of sales experience,” I quickly realized that everything I did was based on building relationships and being my authentic self. Once I entered the corporate world of sales, I became the top salesperson in the nation at Aramark. This success inspired me to start coaching others within my company to go on to great success for themselves.
Through my experience, I realized what a passion I had for teaching and coaching others, and how great the need is in the marketplace for increased support and skill building around sales. I left my successful corporate career to pursue my passion of helping others achieve their goals through effective communication and sales techniques.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
It was only three weeks into my new sales job when my life took a sudden turn. I ended up with a kidney infection, sepsis, and pancreatitis. I was admitted to the hospital with no insurance and no sick leave from my new job. I was scared and didn’t know what to do. I was in the hospital for seven days and was sicker than I’ve ever been in my life. It was the hardest time I had ever experienced.
After leaving the hospital, I still had to keep going to work, training, and taking on a new territory. It was tough, but I had to push through it. As if that wasn’t hard enough, I also had no savings, over $70k in debt, and no new sales coming in since I was still brand new to my role. It was a setback for me after leaving a 15-year teaching career and getting sick so quickly after jumping into this new role.
But I refused to let my circumstances hold me back. I was determined to become the number one salesperson in the company, and I was not going to let anything stop me. It took about four months for me to start to feel normal again. During that time, I had to work harder than I ever had before. I had to push through the pain, the exhaustion, and the stress.
It was a difficult time, but it made me even stronger and more tenacious. I learned that when life knocks you down, you have to get back up and keep going. I refused to let my health and circumstances hold me back from achieving my goals. And in the end, all the hard work paid off. I became the number one salesperson in the company, and I proved to myself that I could overcome any obstacle that came my way.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When it comes to building an audience on social media, I found that the most important thing is to start conversations every day. I made sure to get visible, let people know that I had something for sale, and directed them to my main community hub. Consistency was key for me, and I made sure to engage with my community and provide them with value.
I focused on creating an engaged community online and made sure to choose methods of operation that were both easy and fun for me to maintain. I also had one premium offer that I offered every day, and I created a wash, rinse, repeat sales plan that I could implement every day. Additionally, I invested heavily in my personal growth and skill building and leveraged other people’s audiences by collaborating with them.
Every day, I started conversations with new people and invited them to join my community. I also made sure to offer opportunities for people to get on a call with me and did a lot of market research with ideal clients. Finally, I took care of myself and made sure to attend to my personal needs so that I could show up consistently online.
If I had to give any advice to those just starting to build their social media presence, it would be to focus on creating value for your audience, starting conversations every day, and being consistent with your efforts. It’s also important to take care of yourself and your personal needs so that you can show up as your best self online.
