We were lucky to catch up with Nicole Cosby recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nicole thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
Since the pandemic we’ve had to be more intentional about how we celebrate. From how many guests to invite to finding an appropriate gathering place due to life’s
circumstances. Luxury picnics became a huge trend. They allowed people to gather small
with their loved ones. Because we were forced to stay at home we had to get creative on
how we entertained ourselves. These picnics showed that even something so small as a
picnic can make a grand statement for you and your guests to rave about, Champagne walls
are another big trend. They give a welcoming ambiance to your guests while save the host
a few dollars by eliminating a wait staff.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi! My name is Nicole Cosby – Party Planner & Picnicprenuer. I am the creative director and CEO of Party And A Bottle LLC. From a young girl I’ve always had a flare for fashion, designing, decorating and entertaining. I started my career over 25 years
ago in the beauty industry were I became a Master Cosmetologist and Salon Owner. I spent most of the earlier part of my career styling hair in the salon and designing fashion shows. I became a salon owner after 10 years of being in the beauty industry and still to this day. In 2012 I founded a mobile entertainment company with my daughter where we provided
spa / pamper parties for girls between ages 5 – 12. That business allowed me to continue growing in the beauty industry and tap into the entertainment industry. Years later, after the impact of COVID I decided to shift my career and go in a completely
different direction of entertainment. I began providing intimate picnics for people who wanted to gather small at home but
still feel like they were in a luxury setting. It was very rewarding to help people think outside the box and create a luxury ambiance in the comfort of their own home. It allowed people to gather with loved ones after being home during a global pandemic. At Party And A Bottle LLC we offer mobile luxury picnic setting, tablescape rentals for a DIY picnic, party rentals, table and chair rentals and consultations for anyone who needs assistance with a DIY Event. We cater to intimate adult parties for up to 12 guests. Designing an intimate luxury setting for clients to take the pressure off themselves and just focus on showing up and enjoying the moment is our pleasure,
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Being a creative you have to constantly be creating and designing even if you have some down time in your business..Mock Picnics have been a every effective strategy for growing my business. Truth is people don’t know they want this luxury service until they see it. Especially in person. So I make sure that in between booked events I create a schedule to set up mock picnics and take videos and pictures for advertising. I realized it was very beneficial to create mock setting in a public place (ex: parks) where people can walk by and see all of the luxury we have to offer. The ambiance leads people to stop and see what it’s all about. Having your business cards available gives them the opportunity to research your company and possibly connect at a later time for a potential booking.
How did you build your audience on social media?
In the world of social media, we have been learning how to leverage some of the different platforms. Being intentional on who your want to reach on social media was the key. Once you know who your services are for and where they hang out on social media you can create an effective marketing plan. The best advice I would like to share is to be consistent, make sure you stay informed on the latest social media audio trends and topics, utilize hashtags, create a realistic posting schedule for your business and stick to it. Oh yeah, and have some fun with it all. I’ve learned that being relatable is a huge win for your social media audience.
