Nicole, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Is there a heartwarming story from your career that you look back on?
I once had an older client come in who had never changed her hair color. She had always wanted blue hair, in her 60s she finally decided to go for it. After hours of lightning her hair and putting on a beautiful bold cobalt blue, I turned her to the mirror and her eyes filled with tears. I told her that her hair looked so good that it looked like a wig. She looked at me and said “I finally feel like I’ve taken the wig off and I finally feel like myself.” In that moment I was so touched. I love what I do and this was a special moment.

Nicole, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
With a passion for hair that’s been burning bright since day one, I’ve turned my lifelong dream into a beautiful reality. I have a lovely private studio located in Los Angeles!
I’m not your average hairstylist; I’m an artist! From custom color creations that make heads turn, to precision haircutting that leaves you feeling like a superstar.
Whether it’s everyday styling or transforming your hair for special events and weddings, I love to make hair dreams reality!
I specialize in crafting one-of-a-kind hair looks that suit your unique personality and lifestyle. And let’s talk products! I exclusively use top-tier salon products, because why settle for anything less than the best?
When you leave my chair, you won’t just look good; you’ll feel good!
As a hairstylist, my passion transcends the service itself. It’s a heartfelt connection, a bond we share through the common thread of hair, time and conversation.
For me, it’s not just a service; it’s a moment to understand, to uplift, and to transform. Hair is more than strands; it’s a canvas that can hold joy, confidence, and mood.
I’m immensely proud to be part of this journey, to have a positive impact on each person who sits in my chair. It’s a privilege.
Constantly learning, evolving, and seeking knowledge through continued education is my commitment. Because, for me, it’s not just about doing my best; it’s about doing my absolute best for clients.
In this line of work, there are moments when things don’t unfold as we envision, and it’s easy to internalize those challenges. However, I’ve come to see these instances as invaluable learning opportunities, and a source of motivation to continually improve.
It’s important to recognize that hairstylists often face demanding circumstances, and the resilience and commitment required often go unnoticed. Shedding light on the dedication and continuous growth that hairstylists embrace can foster a greater appreciation for the artistry and hard work that goes into every client.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all of you – my amazing clients, dedicated followers, and everyone who cheers me on. Being a small business owner pursuing our passions can be challenging, but your support and encouragement fuel my journey.
I eagerly anticipate the next thrilling chapter of my career, where I can continue to create, connect, and make magic happen with every client who walks through my door. Thank you all for being a part of this amazing journey!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Unlearning the idea that there’s only one way to do things is vital in the creative styling industry. Old-school rigidity used to stifle individuality. But once the fundamentals are mastered, stylists have the freedom to explore their unique artistry and creativity, ensuring a strong foundation for innovation and self-expression.
Additionally unlearning to say yes to every single persons requests. Clients might come in with preconceived notions, influenced by social media or anecdotes from friends. I have learned that It’s important to honestly communicate when expectations may not align with the best approach for their unique needs. Providing professional guidance and being upfront about the possibilities can lead to a more collaborative and ultimately satisfying experience for both stylist and client.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could turn back the hands of time, there’s no doubt in my mind that I’d choose this career path all over again. The opportunity to bring smiles, confidence, and beauty to others through my craft is magical. Every day spent doing what I love is a reminder of why I’m on this wonderful journey, and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect calling for myself.
