We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nicolas Carnazzo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nicolas below.
Alright, Nicolas thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Our entire brand and community is built off risk. Hustle Killer was created for the hard working individuals that no matter what adversities are throw at them they still hustled it out , put the work in and stayed loyal to the ones around them. Starting out as a clothing brand and investing all we had into the clothing was a huge risk , no one gave us guidance , we took what we knew from hustling and applied it to the brand . We put on shows and events for years , learning the dues and donts , really networking with people in the community, showing face and adapting our own mission and goals to the mix. We invested 100% of ourselves and continue to take risks , from opening a studio during the pandemic and even throwing shows while the entire world was still wearing masks , we never stopped to provide a space for artists. We try to show our strengths through actions like helping artists and brands have a place to start out an learn the basics. I truly believe that being apart of a community who’s support pays it forward for others is something we should push more. We never realized how much our brand speaks and helps others until we saw how bigger our shows have got . More People are seeing the risks we have taken and see how much we care and that attracts the right kind of people that also see our mission in helping others. So I would say to always take a risk especially to find your full potential , failing is what teaches us and you never know how many others may support what you want to do unless you try .
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We started as a clothing brand that we would wear during shows and give to other hard working artists. The brand was scene more and more as we did shows people grew towards the brand the more they saw the passion an hustle behind everything we do . We would do shows all around New England bringing large groups of artists and book as “hustle killer” an we would share the set as a group. This gained a lot of eyes in the community as they saw people from all over Massachusetts come together an bring high energy to shows. We eventually learned how to throw shows with our own twists , adding what we felt the scene was missing. Helping artist more than just shows , we opened a recording studio , offer photography / video work , space for their own events , artists merch/branding and more. We eventually became the one stop shop for artists . We can help artists with almost anything they need from the studio to the stage. We really want artists to stop wasting time and money with people that just in fact want that. It can get expensive being an artists so we are always here to help you, We have weekly and monthly events , we are always collaborating with others so we encourage all artists that feel like they can achieve with us to tap in an check us out.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Communication is everything when it comes to managing a team. You want to not only make sure your team is happy but you want to make sure they are being heard and most of all share similar goals as the rest. Everyone on a team has a role or position , this way there is no real room for slack or failure , Working together or as a team is just that , we need to always make sure we are talking and expressing what can be done better , what we each need or what we feel is holding us back from the next step. Not everyone moves at the same speed or motivation so we all as a team need to check in an sometimes pick up the slack where we can so we succeed as a whole. Once one of us get in the “right” door we all win .
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for us would have to be the shows and events . This gives people a real idea of who we are and what we do . Showcasing what we have to offer and how we can hep brands and artists , Checking out our community gives others a real feel that’s more than networking. You can see the thrive an happiness this platform Brings others especially local artists who are looking to get more stage time , recording better quality music ,and learning the ins and outs of shows and actually being a self invested artist. Meeting other people who are also learning and networking to build fan bases , and a sense of community is key element to our shows.
