We were lucky to catch up with Nick Reeder recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nick, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Our goal is to always do something that can make someone day just a little bit better. That’s why we do what we do! When we show up at your school event, birthday party, wedding, or in your local park, we want you to leave feeling a little bit better, a little bit happier! The world we live is so tough, so if were able to put a smile on someone’s face then, we are helping the world be a little easier to deal with.
We really do sell happiness, with every bite, with every event. You will leave our prescience just a little happier!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Keisha and I, purchased the Dallas territory of Frios Gourmet Pops in 2020. We brought our franchise right before the start of the pandemic. With my background in Community engagement and Keisha coming out of the medical field. We took the challenge of growing a business in an unexpected climate head on. We have always had a passion for serving our community. Frios allows us to put a smile on a lot of faces (even if we couldn’t see them behind their mask) We really love engaging and getting to fellowship with our customers. Our business allows us to get to know people, in a very short amount of time. But we love building those relationships. Our pops have a nostalgic feel, they take you back to a happy place! To a time when life was simple, and fun. We love supporting our community as well, so doing a give backs with a local PTA or non profit, we try and do these monthly, because we don’t want to just sell pops. We want to help build the community we live in. To this day, we will still roll around and bless people. We may see a hard working employee at our favorite store or restaurant; or someone waiting at the bus stop, or anyone we run in to and bless them with a free pop! Just because, and we love that we can do that!
Every business has a goal to grow and make money. We pride ourselves on being able to make someone day better. As long as we can keep giving in that way then I believe our business will be alight.

How’d you meet your business partner?
I am very fortunate that my business partner is my life partner. It’s not easy doing business together as a husband and wife. I meet my wife in the most random way, my cousin introduced us, and neither one of us was looking to get into a relationship. After years of being just friends, I knew I couldn’t see myself without her next to me. So I had to give her my name to get her off the market. I was able to marry my best friend and we have been able to push each other to do great things. What I love about our business is that we complement each other well. The areas that I am not strong in, Keisha excels in those areas and vice versa. So we just let each other do what we do well. We have our challenges, there are plenty of times when we don’t agree. There are plenty of times when we do, but our goal is to always do what’s right, its not a necessity to be right. We try and have fun, work is work but when you have a partner that you can have fun with and things aren’t always so serious that helps a lot as well .

Any advice for managing a team?
I think the best advice I can give for managing a team would be to deal with each person accordingly. A team has to be connected. You can have different positions or parts but together we all have to be moving towards the same goal. We do our best to encourage and motivate our employees. We want to make sure that we hear them so we encourage them to give us feedback, or suggestions. We want them to feel invested in our business, so when we grow, we make sure they feel that growth also. We also give them free pops, which helps!
