We recently connected with Nick Pelc and have shared our conversation below.

Nick, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.

My first client I ever got at the studio was just simply a friend. I met him in college and we started working on stuff together. After over a decade we are still creating music together.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I started playing music at the age of 3 taking piano classes. I started playing in bands as a teenage and we needed some demos cut. I volunteered to do it. Soon after I started creating more and more and others wanted my services.

A problem we solve for clients is how to find effective and good quality recording. This is a harder task than it may sound. I think several things set us apart. The speed we work at, our love for the music, our customer service, the ability to make clients comfortable and feel confident in what they are creating. We create a private environment that no one else in Colorado has.

Awards and stuff are useless. I love being able to see a client come in and leave happy with what they made.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

I started working as a Dj and was able to find my business working that way. I slowly built it up. It is a tricky industry to just go get an sba loan for.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

I work part time as a paramedic. I also own 4 rental properties.
