We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nick Hardaway a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nick , thanks for joining us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
My creative career has and continues to place me where I am supposed to be at the right place and time. When I first decided I wanted to tap into the world of blogging I was unaware of how many other creative categories/labels fell underneath the word “blogger”. As I started to tap into my gifts and plant the seeds for what success looked like for me I discovered that I was more than just a blogger but rather a model, stylist, lifestyle blogger and content creator and now years later a producer. Each door that I was given the opportunity to walk through over the years has led me to other doors with even bigger opportunities. It is so easy to compare your creative journey to what you see others doing, and sometimes it may appear that things are moving quicker for them than they are for you. But as you continue to grow in being truly comfortable in your own skin is when more opportunities will show up and completely change your life. I am currently living proof of what it means to “Let go and let flow”, and trusting the process in knowing that whatever is meant for me will always find me.
Nick , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
That the majority of the people closest to you are not your audience, and may-not understand and support you in your creative journey and thats ok. I used to get upset about it until I understood that my creativity is a gift and the path that I am on is for me and ONLY me to understand and see through. I don’t need to put a question mark (?), where god has already put a period (.). My gifts are to share with those who understand and want to receive them. A very close mentor of mine recently dropped a gem of wisdom on me. In letting me know that my biggest support and blessings are almost always going to come from those I do not know, and once I came to terms with that it changed everything for me. No matter who is supporting or not supporting you holds no weight on stopping the creativity or dreams that have been placed inside of you. As long as you continue to wake up every day and put one foot in front of the other and not place self limiting beliefs on you or your dreams, is bringing you one step closer to making them a reality. ;)
