We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nick Bracks. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nick below.
Hi Nick, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The idea for Move Your Mind came from a very personal place. For as long as I can remember, I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression. When I first started out in the public eye—through modeling, acting, and later public speaking—these battles didn’t disappear. If anything, they became more intense, and I realized I wasn’t alone. So many people, from all walks of life, were struggling with their mental health but often felt they had nowhere to turn or didn’t know how to talk about it.
The concept for Move Your Mind started to take shape through these experiences. I knew firsthand that physical activity and positive mindset shifts were key in managing my own mental health, but I also knew the power of community and support. After one particular talk on mental health, someone came up to me and shared how much it had meant to them to see someone speak openly about these issues. That was a defining moment. It hit me that mental health support didn’t have to be clinical or distant; it could be real, practical, and accessible for people in their everyday lives.
I wanted Move Your Mind to be a brand that offered real solutions and resources people could use daily—not just generic advice but tools grounded in personal experience and accessible to anyone, anywhere. I believed that combining mental health advocacy with fitness and wellness would bridge a unique gap. There were countless platforms out there, but very few approached mental health holistically, recognizing the mind-body connection in a way that was relatable and actionable.
What excited me most was creating a community around Move Your Mind that wasn’t just about coping but truly thriving. I felt like I was solving a problem that no one else had quite tackled in this way. I knew this was a worthwhile endeavor because it spoke to such a widespread need, and I believed people were ready to embrace it. Now, every step I take with Move Your Mind reaffirms that vision, and I feel incredibly grateful to be able to support others in their mental health journeys in a way that feels authentic to my own.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My journey into mental health advocacy and wellness started with my own struggles. I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression throughout my life, and at a young age, I found myself working in industries that sometimes heightened those challenges. I began modeling and acting, which, while rewarding, also came with pressures and expectations that amplified my mental health battles. I knew I couldn’t be the only one facing this, and over time, I realized I wanted to bring awareness to mental health in a real, accessible way.
Through Move Your Mind, I provide resources, coaching, and tools to help people take control of their mental and physical health. The idea is to empower individuals with actionable steps that fit into their daily lives, like workouts, mindfulness practices, and practical tips for mental resilience. We focus on combining fitness with mental health because I believe in a holistic approach where the mind and body support each other.
One thing that sets Move Your Mind apart is that it’s built from real-life experiences. I’m not just talking about mental health from a distance—I’m sharing tools and insights that have helped me through my own struggles, and I think people connect with that authenticity. I know how overwhelming it can be to feel like you’re alone in these battles, and I want Move Your Mind to be a place where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.
I’m incredibly proud of the community we’ve built. Seeing people connect with the resources we provide and hearing how these tools have made a difference in their lives—that’s what drives me forward. For potential clients or followers, the main thing I want them to know is that Move Your Mind is here to meet you where you are. Whether you’re just starting your mental health journey or looking for new ways to push yourself, we’re committed to making mental and physical wellness accessible to everyone.
My mission is to break down barriers around mental health and help people live healthier, happier lives. If Move Your Mind can inspire even one person to make positive changes in their life, then I consider that a success.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Resilience wasn’t something that came easily to me. It was something I built, slowly and often painfully, through my own struggles with mental health. For years, I dealt with anxiety and depression that felt all-consuming. I had to learn how to pick myself back up, sometimes from rock bottom, and push forward even when it felt like there was no way out. Each setback taught me something new about myself—my limits, my strengths, and my capacity to grow.
I realized that resilience wasn’t about avoiding hardship or finding a quick fix. It was about facing those difficult moments head-on and learning how to navigate them. Exercise and physical wellness became my first tools in this journey. When I committed to working out, I noticed a change, not just physically but mentally. It gave me structure, purpose, and a way to channel my energy into something positive. Building resilience through fitness taught me discipline, focus, and the power of small wins—things that started on the gym floor but applied to every part of my life.
But beyond fitness, what really built my resilience was finding purpose in helping others. Sharing my story, hearing others’ stories, and connecting with people who had their own struggles reminded me that I wasn’t alone. This community and sense of shared experience became a foundation for my resilience, giving me strength when things got tough. It became clear to me that resilience is like a muscle—the more you work it, the stronger it becomes. And now, every challenge I face is an opportunity to keep building that strength, for myself and for others.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
My backstory is one of highs and lows, shaped by a lot of personal growth and self-discovery. Growing up, I had this idea that success was about fitting a specific mold—being the best, achieving milestones, and always keeping up appearances. I threw myself into modeling and acting early on, thinking that external success and validation would fill whatever gaps I was feeling inside. But as I went deeper into these industries, the pressure became overwhelming, and I realized that all of this striving for outward success wasn’t actually bringing me happiness or peace. In fact, it was pulling me further away from myself.
One of the biggest things I had to unlearn was this belief that self-worth is tied to what you accomplish. I had to let go of the need for constant approval and start seeing my value beyond achievements and appearances. That was incredibly hard because, for years, I thought that’s what gave me purpose. Unlearning this meant facing parts of myself that I’d avoided for so long—my fears, insecurities, and the parts of me that felt ‘not enough’ without something to prove otherwise.
I also had to unlearn the idea that vulnerability was a weakness. I grew up thinking that being open about struggles or showing any sign of imperfection was something to avoid. But the moment I started sharing my story and allowing myself to be real with others, I realized that vulnerability was actually one of my greatest strengths. It’s what connects us, it’s what brings depth to our experiences, and it’s what allows for true resilience. Unlearning all of these old patterns and beliefs has been a journey, but it’s given me a stronger foundation than any outward success ever could. It’s shaped who I am today and allowed me to create a life that feels authentic, fulfilling, and truly my own.
