In 2019, I embarked on a transformative journey with the Keto diet, shedding excess weight and reclaiming my health. However, I soon realized that physical exercise was essential for my overall well-being. While cardio and weightlifting seemed daunting, I opted for daily stretching to alleviate back pain and gradually introduce movement into my routine.
Little did I know that this simple act would not only improve my physical flexibility but also lead to profound mental and emotional growth. As I dedicated more time to stretching, I began to explore the depths of my mind, uncovering layers of unaddressed emotions and neglected self-care.
What started as a 30-minute daily practice evolved into extended sessions of mindful stretching, accompanied by uplifting music that guided my thoughts and emotions. Through introspection and meditation, I confronted insecurities, fears, and unfulfilled aspirations, allowing tears to flow as I acknowledged my inner struggles.
Despite moments of self-doubt and reflection on perceived shortcomings, I realized the importance of self-acceptance and personal growth. My journey toward holistic wellness wasn’t just about physical health; it encompassed spiritual and emotional healing as well.
After two years of dedicated practice, I discovered yoga organically, intuitively adopting poses and techniques that resonated with me. Eventually, I pursued formal training and became a certified yoga instructor in September 2020, amidst the challenges of a global pandemic.
Throughout my journey, I’ve learned to prioritize self-love, embrace constructive criticism, and cultivate a positive mindset. Drawing from my Christian faith and newfound understanding of Buddhist principles, I aim to bridge spiritual practices and foster unity within the yoga community.
My mission as an instructor extends beyond physical fitness; it’s about guiding individuals toward self-discovery, enlightenment, and a deeper connection with their bodies. By integrating Christian values into the practice, I hope to inspire others to explore new perspectives and embrace holistic well-being.

I’m a wellness advocate, and yoga instructor dedicated to helping individuals cultivate holistic well-being and inner harmony. My journey into this space began during a challenging period in my personal life. Struggling in a marriage where I felt disconnected and unfulfilled, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and transformation.
It started with a decision to prioritize my health and well-being, leading me to explore the benefits of the Keto diet. Through one-on-one coaching, group classes, workshops, and retreats, I empower individuals to embark on their own journey of self-discovery and transformation.
My approach goes beyond physical fitness; it’s about nurturing the mind, body, and spirit to achieve true harmony and fulfillment. I integrate principles of mindfulness, self-love, positive thinking, and spiritual growth into my teachings, guiding clients toward a deeper understanding of themselves and their purpose in life.
What sets me apart is my emphasis on inner growth and spiritual awakening. While physical fitness is important, I believe true well-being comes from aligning mind, body, and spirit. Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In the past year, I’ve been on a journey of profound self-discovery and resilience. Finalizing my divorce brought about a new wave of fears and uncertainties. It was a challenging time as my ex-husband moved on quickly, and I found myself navigating this new chapter alone. While I hold no ill feelings towards him, it left me grappling with isolation and fears I thought I had overcome.
During this period, my friendships shifted, and my need for isolation grew. Despite my continuous learning and growth, I couldn’t shake some old mindsets. I found solace in isolation, learning to live in the present moment and shedding my reliance on social media for validation.
As the new year began, I felt a lingering angst and couldn’t pinpoint its source. It wasn’t until I read “A New Earth” that everything clicked—it was my ego. I took a retreat to delve deeper into this revelation, and fireworks went off in my mind. I realized I was allowing fear and overthinking to hold me back. This desire for personal growth had been with me for seven years, and it was time to stop overanalyzing and start taking steps forward.
The realization that my ego was hindering my progress was a turning point. I learned that dwelling on past decisions and worrying about the future only kept me stuck. Embracing the present moment and trusting in the unfolding of my journey became my focus.
The opportunity for this interview came at just the right time, serving as a reminder that getting started, even when fear lingers, leads to positive outcomes. I’ve come to understand that having the right intentions and a desire for goodness is crucial. Staying trapped in my thoughts and not taking action would have kept me in the same place.
This journey is a testament to my resilience—to facing challenges head-on, learning from them, and emerging stronger than before. I’m grateful for the chance to share my story, hoping it inspires others to embrace their journey of growth and self-discovery.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
In my journey as a Christian navigating a Hinduism/Buddhist practice, I’ve learned that openness and a willingness to explore are key to success in this field. While training and knowledge are important, it’s equally crucial to approach the practice with an open heart and mind.
At first, I was hesitant and fearful of participating in practices that seemed to conflict with my Christian beliefs. I was afraid of inadvertently going against my faith. However, as I continued to delve deeper into the practice, I began to experience small revelations that eased my fears and allowed me to embrace more aspects of my practice.
For instance, I initially hesitated to engage with high-frequency soundwaves, fearing that I wouldn’t understand the chants or their meaning. However, as I learned more about how sound waves can positively affect the body and calm the central nervous system, I found comfort and solace in incorporating this into my practice.
As I continue to study and explore, I’ve come to realize that there are many similarities between Eastern philosophy and Christianity. Rather than focusing solely on differences, I strive for a collective unity where individuals from all faith backgrounds can come together and learn from one another.
I believe that Jesus’s teachings were not about legalism but about love, compassion, and understanding. By breaking down barriers and embracing the wisdom of various spiritual traditions, we can create a space of unity where our light can shine brightly for one another.
My goal is to encourage fellow Christians to explore Eastern philosophy without fear, knowing that they may be pleasantly surprised by the similarities they discover. Yoga, in particular, has the potential to be a transformative space where individuals from all walks of life can come together in unity and mutual respect.
