We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nichole Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nichole below.
Nichole, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How do you think about spending on things like coffee when times are tough?
As a small business owner, knowing how to manage money is very important. I had to learn quickly how to determine the difference between an investment and a liability when I began making profits. As my own boss I make sure to prioritize my time, energy and self-care regardless if business is thriving or lean.

Nichole, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi! Im Nichole Brown. The young owner of Niqslocs; A black owned business providing Natural hair/Loc services. I work hard to give my clients a comfortable and inviting environment to decompress and leave happy with their beautiful crown! I am a home-based Loctician located in Atlanta, Ga.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Being young and owning a business comes with many responsibilities and sacrifices. I knew when I started this journey I had to be focused and discipline in order to see the growth I wanted too. This requires a lot of time and dedication and resulted in lost friendships and connections. Resilience is key.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I built my platform on Instagram and Tiktok. I found myself growing and gaining more clientele once I was consistent and being precise and detailed about everything put on social media. I wanted my page to be a representation of not only my work but myself. This entails keeping things cute, classy and professional.
