We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nicholas Singh. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nicholas below.
Nicholas, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Tivy (my co-host) and I, acted on conviction and inspiration in launching a YouTube channel and vlog style podcast centering around Bible-based Christian content as two regular guys without any formal Theology credentials. Engaging with everyday, real-life, and relevant topics that lend perspective, advice, and encouragement from Bible-based lens. Topics as large, sensitive, and challenging as the Israel/Palestine conflict, the music industry, identity politics, altruism, all the way down to practical life skills and tools for day to day life. At times we wrestle with topics many are afraid to get in to especially, on a public platform. But prayerfully conducting our platform through a position of love and respect, we discuss things and present viewpoints, Biblical standpoints, and our own personal thoughts on topics not regularly discussed or even things people in the public space might worry they’d get cancelled for.

Nicholas, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a Christian first and foremost. My occupation as it stands is a Personal Trainer, by my purpose for life is to follow God and introduce others to His life-changing love and message. As a pre-teen I was invited to a Bible seminar that featured world history and the Bible’s consistent prophetic fulfillment throughout time. I was blown away that I could find God in my history book! I’ve been at attention ever since. Vowing to follow truth wherever I find it, and once tested, share these truths with whoever I can. Since then, in my free-time, I’ve studied and learned of the core principles of most major religions. But none more than Christianity and it’s Bible. I’ve found that in Jesus, Christianity is a life-path exceptional of all others. My objective and that of my co-host Tivy, is to let our listeners and viewers know that knowledge is power, and that even the common man or woman can readily engage with the Bible and it’s teachings. Myself as just a normal guy reading my Bible some 4 times from cover to cover. It will challenge you, amaze you, and transform your life. The Bible is called the “Living Word.” It is real, relevant, and relatable. Most folks and I’m sure some of our viewers have been at some point or another intimidated the Bible and haven’t felt they can open it for themselves. We want to show the the Bible was written to be read and reveal amazing truths about humanity’s purpose, but more than anything, the lengths God goes to to demonstrate His great love to all His creation.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I was a psychology major in College, but my mother got very sick and needed some help staying afloat while her ability was limited. So I decided to leave school, and though I didn’t make much, focus solely on working to help sustain my family. This redirection diversified my skill-sets, put me in places to interact with and work with so many amazing people. It developed a versatility, work ethic, and interpersonal relation skills that I think was invaluable. It brought my family closer. And it allowed me to effect and be effected by people that I couldn’t trade for anything. Plus, though I’m still have an interest in the field of Psychology, as I see the direction much of that field is headed, I think the redirection was a blessing in disguise.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Growing up without my father for most of my life, I had to discover what a man was and decide what kind of man I wanted to be. The father figure I chose, but truly the father that chose me was Jesus. A father that could never fail me, I couldn’t get away from, who had high standards, but immeasurable love and grace. Jesus is a man who’s whole life puts resilience on full display, from birth, to death, to resurrection. And I’ve seen first hand the trajectory a boy or man’s life can take when the wrong person or culture becomes their new father. I’ve fallen short many of times, but choosing a path of forthrightness, honesty, and forgiveness when bitterness was always an option are the fruits of some resilience. My biological father and I have since gotten to know each other in my adulthood and have nurtured a loving relationship despite the time we’ve missed.
